E1 is the error code for low voltage cut off. probably too much voltage drop w/ your extension, need make sure the wire is sized right for the length you need to run.

I have the same CB, I used a dash mount from Bracketron & a belt clip holder from Proclip for mine. Proclip has dash & console mounts that may work for you also, For my truck I didn't like the dash mount as it blocked too much of the AC vent...

Why not move the antenna to the other side? they do make springs w/ male & female ends so you could swap it. Also might consider a more flexible antenna, I use a Wilson flex & it's taken a lot of abuse w/ out a spring.

Did you get one of the after market clamps to replace the lousy factory one?

I used a magnet mount for a while when I first got mine but it would get knocked over by low hanging branches a lot. Switched to permanent mount w/ quick release on the antenna.
