No rust...truck has been well-maintained. We apply Fluid Film (anti-corrosion lanolin wax product) with a sprayer each year when we switch over to winter tires.

The trailer has a dry weight of approx. 2400 lbs and even loaded with gear, food, water etc. it would be well under 3000 lbs. The Frontier was more than capable of handling this type of towing duty. We are experienced with trailer towing and know that the key to having a well-behaved trailer...

Nice job. That gives me some ideas for what to do with my Nissan Frontier PRO-4X...I've got the same issue with a 5' bed and a 5'8" height. Your idea would beat trying to sleep squeezed in on the diagonal within the confines of the bed and canopy/topper. Thanks.

Update 7/2/2015 -- SOLD This is one of only 500 4x4 Syncro Tristars ever made. The Tristar model has a much nicer interior than the stock Doka: power steering, Captain's chair seats, heated drivers seat, extra insulation and sound deadening, padded dash, contoured rear seat, carpeted floors...

Exactly right. I owned one (1989 gasser, not a diesel) for awhile and it was way more comfortable than a canvas pop-top in colder conditions. Note the double-pane windows in the rear of the vehicle. The hightop is insulated as well. Having fulltime standing room is a great feature on these vans...
