I like where this project is going. Just bought an unfinished 84 Starcraft trailer similar in shape to the OP's project. So looking for ideas for lift. Already planning to replace the torque/flex axle for one with brakes. I'd like to match wheel and tire size to my Jeep. So a lift and cutting...
I certainly like the idea of a multi-use trailer. Looking forward to seeing how this comes out. I would love to have something similar that even my Neon can tow coast to coast.
Somehow missed this post... The Mojave Green is born pissed off and doesn't improve his attitude as he matures. He will chase you, he don't run. He has no idea what surrender or flight means. I wasn't aware they were that far east! I used to work in the upper Mojave Desert and he was the only...
That 4x4wire link has been around forever and has rarely been a fix for any substantial number for people. At least within the FWD Mopar community. I had a 1987 Dodge Grand Caravan with the FWD Chrysler variant of the 6G72. Most of the ticking issues required the lift adjusters to be...
Back when I had my old Grand Caravan...
Yeah, I think this qualifies in the dumb stuff in a minivan thread...
I didn't have access to a welder or any fab skills. Hard to believe that was just 14 years ago... Anyway. I saw a product for rear coil sprung 4 Runners that was a pair of plates...
Kind of glad I didn't see this when I had a minivan, I'd have found a way to try that... Then again, there has to be a way to "overbuild" this so it doesn't seem so sketchy...
Interesting alterations. I've got a 1972 Starcraft tent trailer that I'm not convinced I SHOULDN'T cut the sides open to make room for bigger rubber. I do intend to build a subframe to add strength to the original and add lift.
Of course, I thought I'd decided NOT to do anything with my 72 Starcraft popup other than use it...
Nice build so far, can't wait to see the final outcome.
My wife and I have slept in the back of my ZJ. We toss the spare tire out, and have that tent on the backside so the tailgate is up. I've slept in the back alone and the only thing I would like is to fill the area behind the front seat to make a little more flat space. I'm 6'3" and my wife is...
My mastiff's first trip camping...
My buddies, Scott and Mason convinced me to go cold weather camping.
We checked the local weather stations when we got back home, to find we were out in -17* cold...
A couple weeks ago...
So far, no joy with my Delorme LT20 bug receiver and TangoGPS. But I agree that finding what you want to work with what you have just takes some time. Love Open Source. I am also looking for something to work with a Garmin GPSMap 60CSx in Ubuntu.
I had originally looked at using my Delorme...
We like ours, its a cheap knock off but sets up easily, plenty of room inside and I can stand up in it just fine. I'm 6'3". Downside is, the opening isn't quite tall enough for my ZJ hatch. Just wish I had better pics of it...
If you still need ZJ porn...
95 Laredo Upcountry package with full skids. 31" tires, 2" Budget Boost, front upper adjustable front arms and fixed lowers. In progress, sliders and bumpers, tcase skid being modded. Oh, and, 20MPG average...
My wife has Raynaud's as well. Plus a few other issues that tag along for fun. She WANTS to go when the weather is bad, but I know camping would be bad then. But we got out this past weekend. Just another thing to work around.
NICE work with the trailer.
