    7P or other training schools

I enjoyed the training from the 7P Team at Expo East in 2021. They seem to have disappeared from on-line media. For east coast options, look at: Overland Experts Morrison's Outdoor Adventures Northeast Adventure Company

Cook Partner stove FAQ / Master thread

I picked up an arc lighter from Tembo Tusk. The odd thing is that my Scottle doesn't need it, but I use it all the time on the Cook Partner. One USB charge lasts for hundred of lights - maybe too long, because I take it for granted that it is going to work, and one day I'll need to charge it...

Offer them on Etsy or Ebay and see what happens. $25 isn't silly - you did the tooling.

    Overland Expo East comments?

This was the first for my wife and me. The 7P classes were great, and we want to go back for the recovery series next time around. Oddly impressed by the porta-john service, heard bad things about the shower units, and disappointed by the limited number of food trucks. Someone should rent a...

How Do You Store Your Garbage?

Stage one for us was a Plano box tied to the roof rack, with a contractor bag inside. Stage two was using one of our Zarges boxes mounted to the roof rack, also with a contractor bag. We just added a rear swingout, so Stage three will be an Oscars Mobile Hideout on the spare.

    Lets talk shovels

For something that short, I'd rather just stick with my E-Tool, which has a handle at the end. For something longer, I'm waiting for this one to get back in stock. It's been a long wait. https://barebonesliving.com/products/shovel

    Water Tank placement and size?

You want tongue weight, but not variable tongue weight from a water tank that will sometimes be full and sometimes empty.

Interesting bit of computer hard-drive trivia if you're planning a trip to a high-altitude country...

I wonder if they use 3000m because commercial airliners maintain an internal air pressure around 2400m.

Are my eyes deceiving me? Advertized as a SR5 but looks like an Off Road

There were no ORs in 2011. That's a Trail, not an SR5, and 4x4, not AWD as the posting indicates. Photos show the rear locker switch and multi-terrain select. VIN checks out as a Trail, from what I could see.

New Turtleback Getaway Owner Question - Kitchen Prep Space and Fridge Storage

Having the fridge in your vehicle is also better for leaving the trailer as a basecamp while you go shopping for supplies.

5th 4Runner replacement rear side windows with storage locker.

Land Cruisers and Land Rovers have aftermarket doors, but the 4Runner equivalents are rare, for a reason - the opening on a 4Runner is quite small, with a very large piece of glass making it look big. You would end up with a large door that opens to reveal a small locker inside.

    60% seat delete platform/storage DIY

I agree, but keeping the rear driver's side seat allows you to fully recline the driver's seat for a nap in place.

New to campers and surprised by the high prices. How come a camper is half the cost of a car?

If I were trying to be the gray man in a third world country, I think I'd pick whatever van the locals are used to seeing, and make the customizations inside and out of sight.

Standard Awning -- DS or PS Mount, and Why?

180 and 270 awnings have a hinge at each end - one hinge is further from the vehicle than the other. It can make a difference as to whether a lifting tailgate hits the support arm. Also, snorkels can interfere, requiring the awning to be mounted on the opposite side.

Which of these trucks should I choose for full time living?

On the one hand, I get that you don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. On the other hand, a job pays the bills, and a hobby is a bill. The overlanding...

    Weight

...You cited a penalty section, that refers back to the weight limits sections. I quoted the two sections concerning weight limits. Two-axle vehicles get 34,000 lbs. 9 foot wheel base vehicles get 39,000 lbs. Obviously these limits are not meant to apply to normal passenger vehicles. Which...
