MB Oil Spec OM366 LA, Fully Synthetic?

I have been trying and failing to find out how backward compatible the MB OEM spec is, for instance can I use a fully synthetic oil with MB 228.51 spec? The manual states 228.0/1 oils, of course the superceding specs where not available when the manual was printed? I found the following info...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

    1) First of 3 304Ah (8S/24VCD) Batteries assembled this weekend, I think I am happy with the basic design, strong focus on compression and space saving. I will build a level on top the batteries for light storage boxes: 2) M8 tapped 3030 ends for the compression adjustment, working at about 30Nm...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Took a couple a days last week and fitted the solar panels, nice to get that out of the way: Sika 554 worked really really well! I picked a special purpose profile for max contact area. I also sanded the bonding panel with 100 grit to remove the gloss/gelcoat. Very happy with the results: 1)...

Do you have the MB chassis builder guide? Extending members are bolted not welded in the guide, and in the EU it is not allowed to weld directly to the chassis at. Our new exhaust exits right down under the air tanks facing down as opposed to the side. I can get a picture later.

MB truck owners in North America - is it worth it?

Great info here, and I know you wanted replies from fellow yanks but I have to say, the OM366 engine parts are mostly generic, esp fuel system, air fittings, belts and hoses. These engines are also in most CLAAS machines and parts lists online in the EU are quite hard to find, mostly of course...

    Meertruck 1124AF

Gorgeous, that is gonna work super well in deserts and beachside! And bonus, put some yellow flashers on and in the city you will get away with anything :D We actually though about re-doing our truck logo to be more militaristic so we could get away with some first impression traffic upsets in...

Mogs will always be the coolest rigs. I wanted one before I got my LN2. But they are pricey!

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Thanks :) but I need to redo a few things plumbing wise, I still need quite a few metric - imperial fittings, the 12mm JG fittings do not have that many native options for 3/4 and basically nothing for NTP threads..

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Last weekend I mounted up the electrical, not 100% finished and might need to redo the vertical conduit idea.. the 5000VA inverter is a beast, only just fits.. Had be be a little careful using the self taping screws as they produced a lot of shavings getting into all sorts of components. Some...

Got a bit done this past week as I am able to hobble about a bit more on my leg, general water system and getting the framing done. Pic heavy post. U-shaped sofa completed, a little change of plans with system layout, no batteries etc will live here anymore. Seeing how strong and light these...
