I have a 2001 that I am having a similar problem with, excessive smoke when cold. If you let it idle it will smoke (blue) a very long time, but if driven a 1/4 mile or less it clears up. Seems to do it under about 40 degrees. I can understand smoke from an older diesel when you get temps into...

Hang in there. It must be something simple. I put injectors in my diesel and after cranking and cranking it would never fire. I jacked around with it for 2 days. I did not plug back in the main wiring harness......

There is no way it should need starting fluid. There must be something unhooked. Is the fuel pump running?

It would be cool if it could be turned on and off while still running/in motion like the stability control switch.

I actually really like the traction control but I can see this as a major issue. For single obstacles it works really good. Offroadmuch.... The traction control is always on. It's the stability control that can be turned off and goes off automatically in four low.

First outing with the new ome kit and winch. I love the old man emu lift! It rides great, really amazing how fast you can push the truck off road. The ledges we got into made the extra height really nice. The following day was super muddy. Sticky clay muddy. I never got stuck but...

OME lift and winch installed! I followed some of the other members designs and made a cradle for the winch..... Mocked up with cardboard pieces..... Welded inplace..... Winch mounded.... Final product. I wish I would have trimmed the bumper a little better, but I was getting in...

Picked the winch up from 4 wheel parts tonight. Hopefully I can get it mounted this weekend. I love the way the montero sits now. Anxious to get off road.

Well up at 430am and got it installed the right way. That was stupid...... But on the short drive to big o for an alignment it rode 100% better!!! Good news is by the last side I had it down to about 35min. Lol.

I just installed an ome lift kit on my gen 3 montero. I got it from Sierra expeditions and called them to ask what front springs to get because I am planning on installing a winch, no bumper. They recommended the heavy duty 2915 springs, even though I was going to be a little under the...

Thanks, just what I was looking for. So does anyone have any input on which OME springs to get? I plan on running a winch upfront (no bumper though,) should I go with the standard or heavy duty springs? OME lists the heavy duty for loads between 115-215lbs, so Id be on the light side of that...

I think its fine, nothing to worry about. It has probably never been changed even from new.

Im getting ready to get an OME lift kit and was going to do airbags at the same time. I thought I bookmarked a thread where someone documented putting air bags on a gen 3, but now I can't find it.......All I can find online is air bags for gen 2's or montero sports. Thanks
