Sunday Afternoon Drive to Harquahala Peak 4.28.24

Belated welcome to AZ! And thats not just a lizard — it’s a Gila Monster. You were lucky to see one, they are not that commonly spotted. I’ve been here 37 years and only seen 3 and I get out in the desert a lot.

    2021 OEV Camp X (Backcountry 6.85) on 2023 Ford F150 XLT FX4 Shorty w/ 5.0L Coyote For Sale (Las Vegas, NV) REDUCED $38,995 camper/ $92,995 with truck

Very nice rig! Where did you source the beige fabric bins w/ the pockets on the side? Also as a big guy, I’m curious about how much space is behind the seats in the cab and how far back the seats can go? GLWS!

    Running truck idle all night....

In addition to all the other things truck beds in general are far more open to air leaks than an SUV with all the seals, etc. I know my ’09 Tacoma and now my ’21 Tundra beds had more open voids and sneaky places for air/dust/CO access that you could imagine. DK about the new Tundras, but if...

    Thanks, that’s helpful. I guess there’s no free lunch mpg-wise . . . .

    Camper and Truck Photos

I did a write up on this in the Ovrlnd thread, which I’m quoting here. I need to add that the truck cab cover from Covercraft (which is the parent of Adco) lasted about three years then the sun killed it and it started to shred. Maybe in a place that’s not Phoenix it would last longer? That...

    Camper and Truck Photos

Hey @PirateMcGee — I see you have a chin fairing on your cabover. Have you noticed much impact from it? Any MPG improvements? I’ve been thinking on one, but because it’s Phoenix and I cant garage my rig I have a camper cover that means I’d have to make the fairing easily removable/installable...

OVRLND CAMPERS ONLY : Post your OVRLND Camper build here or a link to your build thread to inspire others!

That’s a great price! Its the first overseas seller I’ve seen that’s quoting US$. Let us know how the shipping went and cost to ship (I assume from the UK?) if you don’t mind. Ive been looking for some ducting which is hard to find in the US in the correct size, so that vendor may be my...

Here’s a few. However, as far as I know, currently Truma will not sell directly to consumers in the US. Appartently, they fear our litigiousness or something. At least that was the story in Feb 2023 when I got this one. At the time you could only buy through dealers. I got mine from AT...

    Kendrick Peak trail, Arizona 11.2.24

Used to love doing that trail. The trees sure have taken a beating since my last hike which was well over 10 years ago. Is the tower still manned? We were able to go up an visit with the watcher and see the inside of the tower at one point. Great pictures — thanks for the walk down memory lane!

2018 Tacoma TRD Offroad, fully built with AT Habitat Camper Set up *Updated Price $42.5k*

Very nice rig at a fair price! If you don’t mind a question from a non buyer — I have a very similar cabinet and fridge (ARB50) set up on the Pside of my Tundra. I’m thinking of getting a bigger fridge and NL makes a 65L that fits the same foot print. I sort of hate the idea that to have it...

    Learn to Sail?

That looks to be a great learning boat and its hard to beat the price plus getting a winter project! I like that you’ve got both a main and a jib sail. Learning with both will translate well to a bigger boat if you want one later.

    Toyota Losing it's Mojo?

I’ve had 5 Toyotas with zero or only minor issues. Never been left stranded by one, That said I’m VERY happy I avoided the new model woes and went for a new ’21 Tundra for my pop-up Ovrlnd camper. I would likely avoid a new Toyota now and for a few years, if I was looking, which fortunately...

    Anderson connectors: Crimp vs solder?

This ⬆️ The Andersons are really hard to get right without their specific tool. You can do it, but the failure rate is high as you found out. Somehow I ended up with an extra of the Powerwerx Anderson crimpers, literally NIB, which work perfectly. I’ve crimped a bunch of Anderson plugs...

    Learn to Sail?

Lot’s of sailers here with good experience. However, it seems like your desire to learn and presumably have fun is falling behind. FWIW, I grew up sailing in the Keys on 14 and 16’ Hobie Cats. I have also crewed a bit on larger boats and sailed the Catalina day sailers in FL as well as some...

Four Wheel Camper Electrical Basics and Switching to Lithium!

Quite true. The NL DC pack has 50amp Anderson plugs for input and output and I use 50 amp plugs everywhere in my charging and output to the camper switchbox with the exception of the smaller 15/30/45 amp plug for direct wiring into the battery (with inline fuse and bypassing all of NL’s...

Jay, true, but that’s only 537.778°C and our lows here in Baja Flag have now reached 995°F, so we have that going for us!😖😁. And what’s this ”freezing”thing you mentioned …🤔? That said, still think they’d be useful on the rear doors for dust control, so I’ll probably order some in the near future
