Here it is welded in with some reinforcements to the next crossmember. This should keep any bounce out of it.

While planning our next trip that will definitely involve mountain biking, I decided a rear hitch for the bike rack is in order. A stop at our local Tractor Supply got us a receiver hitch. Here it is notched in and ready for the welder.

For giggles, I mounted the tent directly to the lid and set it up. My concern is it’s too close to the ground and I will get tired of bending over to get inside it.

I am keeping the lid’s main structure and either mounting the RTT directly to it or figuring out plan B (not sure what that is just yet). I wired some small LEDs under the trailer. My thought is to be able to have a little light around the perimeter of the trailer so we don't stumble over things. The light is just enough without blinding you and shines just around the trailer. Very little currrent draw off the battery too.
