Assuming all else equal in the strength department, hooks limit the angle you can pull, and rigging falls off. Personally I'm not to keen on one bolt in single sheer. I'll take a cheap loop welded both ends to the frame any day over that. It does look cool though.

The system is under the hood. I didn't do anything special when I took mine off. No flashing lights. Maybe there was a fuse.

I may have missed it, but since you removed the jeep integral cage, did you do anything to stiffen the chassis for torsional flex or was that unnecessary?

there was a tsb on the tcase, where if it failed before 80000 or so they would cover it. something was shimmed wrong and it would cause vibrations. there are 20 years of scotch between me and that memory though. take it for what its worth.
