    1986 toyota 4x4 questions

I should have been a little more clear in my initial post. I am a Toyota guy and know the rust trap, timing chain, and front end problems. That is always first on my list. I get the compression and basic inspection results tomorrow. As long as all that checks out. I will pick up the truck. The...

I am in the process of buying a new to me 1986 Toyota extended cab 4x4. I was not looking for one of these trucks but I stumbled into a deal and could not say no. The only thing that would halt the deal, will be if it fails the inspection miserably. I have owned alot of Toyota's but never a...

Thoughts on an 1986 isuzu trooper 2.2 diesel

I was hoping to hear from someone who owned the 2.2. In my research, the media has really bashed the 2.2 saying it throws rods and damages the engine. Just wondering about this issue. Also, wondering about the experience of daily driving one of these. I know it will be slow. Can it do 70 on...

Thoughts on an 1986 isuzu trooper 2.2 diesel

There is a really clean 1986 Isuzu trooper 2.2 diesel for sale. It has me intrigued. When I was a kid my uncle had a Trooper, he drove it forever, other than that I know nothing about the trooper. I understand that it is 30 yrs old. How reliable are the 2.2 diesels? Any info. is welcome. Thanks

Thinking of a mild 4 runner build

I have always just used OME for all my trucks. Glad to hear they work well for the 4 runner. I did have and SSO bumper on a Tacoma, it looked really good, I found it a bit annoying when getting to the winch control. Thanks for the info Tex68w

    Dream Build, 1997 Toyota Tacoma

I am a huge fan of the OME lift, but I usually have 100+ in the bed, bumper, and winch. I really recommend doing the control arms as well. I have used the SPC and had great luck.
