Thanks Luc. I didn't have the LJ when I started the trailer project ... but I'm sure glad I have it now! The LJ took me away from the trailer for a while as it needed a fair bit of work but it will all work out in the end. There's still lots to do on the trailer but it's coming along.

Still under construction but here's mine on its maiden voyage ... from the driveway all the way around my house to the back yard!

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

Thanks Jason. The interior is in great shape and it's the same colour as my XJ. The pic below shows it with the seat covers on. When I took them off they were in perfect condition! As good as the seats are though I'm probably going to put in a set from a Hyundai Tiburon as I've done...

Thanks Presto88 & Mitch502. I got lucky with this one. It's pretty much as clean underneath. Almost no rust which is unheard of up here. The trailer has come along way since my last post on it. I'm due for an update!

Here's my recently acquired '88 Comanche ... I'll get around to it as soon as I complete my '95 Cherokee 2 dr. ... ... and my expedition trailer ... http://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/148123-PCO6-s-Trailer-Build

    Hummelator Off-road teardrop build

What a difference compared to how it's done in Ontario. I've registered 3 home made trailers. The first one was about half built when I got it plated. I had barely started the second one and the third one is an old frame I bought and is a project I plan to start later this summer. No...

    M416 lid build

Thanks. I appreciate the extra info. I'm just coming up to that stage with my lid. The additional pictures are also helpful. I also like your bullet hinges. I'm doing mine a bit different but those are very strong hinges.

    M416 lid build

Fritzoc - Your lid turned out great. :clapping: I like that your gas struts can be mounted in several locations. How many pounds are they rated for?

    FSJ who has them

The previous owner of our house owned this one. I tried to include it in the offer but he wouldn't go for it. :D

    Custom Built Off-Road Teardrop

Welcome to the site. That looks great! We need more pictures. Of the trailer of course ... not you taking outdoor showers.

And yet another off road-ish camper build has begun.

Great build. :clapping: You should be very proud of it. Good luck with your registration. You need a system like we have. I registered both my utility and expedition trailers sight unseen before they were even half done. Next up is a tear drop trailer. I've barely started it ... but...

Se7en62's '97 Cherokee XJ "GROOT" Overland Build

I did that on my XJ. Apart from the obvious benefits (strength, stiffening, etc.) it's a LOT easier to do than putting in original replacement rockers.

    Off Grid Trailers aluminum build.

I love the "fake profile". I say that with the greatest of respect. :) The bottom line of the rack gives the side profile look that I'm going for but you've maximized the cabin space with a flat roof. For an amateur like me it will be easier to construct too.

    CJ5 Resto-Mod Project

I'm just catching up on this thread and enjoying the progress you're making. I like the black windshield and there's plenty of precedents. As for a "farmer's" Jeep here's a good one ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJxsRatINHM&t=29s

Start to Home build expo trailer

I jumped right to your link without reading what you posted and we came to the same conclusion. My only thought was that the tongue should be replaced with one that went under the frame and farther back into it, may be to the first cross member in front of the wheels. It looks like that...

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

I don't mind the gray hard tops and think they look great on some Jeeps. In my case though I have soft and hard half door uppers that are black. I run my LJ with full doors in the winter but for the short time that I do run it with half doors and the hard top it doesn't look right. I plan...

Are gray hard tops unique to 2005? I have a '04 LJ with a gray top but it was installed by a previous owner. Mine did not come with a hard top when it was purchased new.
