A challenge to the "lead sled" ADV bikes offered today

Joe Berk is the importer of the CCM here in the US. If I recall correctly, they should be here soon. He got EPA (or whoever it is) approval recently. I think he was at the Arizona OE. After I typed all that, I realized you're in Wales so it doesn't apply to you. I'll just leave it up for...

    Jesse Bag Problem

Can't see the pictures for some reason. I've had Jesse bags for years and they've never cracked even after a few good dumps.

    Shoei Hornet X2 - Reviewed

If you ride an “Adventure” bike, you’ve gotta wear an “Adventure” helmet, right? Until now, that meant you had to compromise. You had to put up with a visor that would try to rip your head off the minute you turned to the side or looked up, or a noisy-*** helmet that left you deaf at the end...

    Best boots for BMW GS1200

Ditto. After a Baja trip in my Gaerne G12's, my feet and ankles were killing me. MX boots just aren't well-suited to all day, day-after-day riding. The Alpinestars Toucans are great boots with a good level of protection while still being comfortable enough to wear for 10 days in a row. I'd...

Looking for reliable online gear stores!

I second (third?) the recommendation of Atomic Moto. Brian's gear recommendations to me have always been spot on and he spends the time talking with you over the phone to make sure you get the right gear. Thanks to him, I have no money. :********:

Texas to California and back in a formerly derelict 1966 VW Beetle

Great thread! I had a '67 Bug that I restored with my step-dad when I was in high school. It was the same color as the majority of yours. The 12v electrical system was a great upgrade over the '66 as was the bigger engine. I love threads like this that are "different" and involve seeing our...

    New 1000cc BMW adventure bike

Saw it at the International Motorcycle Show yesterday in Long Beach. It's not a true Adventure bike in that it has very, very limited off road capabilities. But it's definitely going to be a challenge to the Multistrada. Notably, it has chain drive and a cable clutch. :Wow1:

A challenge to the "lead sled" ADV bikes offered today

Noah still loves his 690.:bike_rider: His point is that he had to heavily modify his 690 to get it to where it is. It would be nice if someone would make a bike that was closer to his, i.e. higher fuel capacity, more wind protection, etc. For me, a lot of bike choice comes down to where...

What are you guys using for boots?

Alpinestars Toucans for serious riding. Great boots for wide feet! Aerostich Combat Lites for commuting.
