ARB intensity 7" LED lights, who has them?

I personally don't like roof mounted bars, too much fiddling to reduce glare on the hood. If you want LED's, the ARB's are probably the way to go. Look at Baja Designs as well, they have some pretty impressive lights. You could try changing the amber filters/lenses on your lights for clear...

Wheels for a 2012 Tacoma Sport light overland rig?

If you're going to go to 265/70R17, its only an inch taller and its still only a 32in tire. So it sounds like your intended setup and use (judging by your setup) is too mild to worry about that extra sidewall. If you want to change wheels for looks, then knock yourself out! If you want to gain...

    Fear of the highlift?

I suppose we can sum up the entire thread with these three sentences.

    Fear of the highlift?

I find this equally as scary as getting whacked by the auto ratchet, if not maybe more. I do have my handle pinned, and unpin it often to use the handle as a lever (super handy). But the thought of the handle flying 40' will keep me pinning it back when in use.

    Fear of the highlift?

How much range should you build into an expedition vehicle?

This is true. Adding an aux tank on a Land Cruiser is extremely easy because every single model came with the provision for one. The downside is its expensive to do so. Most other vehicles start getting tricky (or impossible) to modify this way.

    Fear of the highlift?

Hm. I've never seen anybody say you shouldn't use one. On the contrary, I've even read its become mandatory equipment for vehicles in off road parks (We dont have those so I can't say for certain). Whoever says you shouldn't use one or have one in your vehicle clearly hasn't used one or maybe...

How much range should you build into an expedition vehicle?

With a 4 cylinder Toyota, I don't need to worry too much about fuel consumption, but I suppose your range requirements might vary according to your travels. I have 40 gallons of fuel on my rig, using a 24 gallon main tank and a 16 gallon aux tank. This is good for a little over 1000km (625...

    Fear of the highlift?

Everything with proper measures can be safe. Its when you take safety for granted that you're in trouble. Why does taking safety into consideration and reading the instructions make you a "ninnie"? I've used it a bunch of times, for winching and lifting the vehicle, and I do have huge respect...

OEM 45 liter gas tank on a US LC200

Installs are usually complicated when it comes to installing a OEM sub tank. If everything is OEM then everything should have its proper spot with mounting holes for the brackets and what not. It will requiere a lot of parts which will only be available in the countries where this is an...

Anybody have some inexpensive tricks for dealing wtih desert pinstriping and gouges?

Easy there, it was a simple joke. Same as the classic "That'll buff out". No need to get insulting. As said, you'll need to wet sand. I don't think there'll be a simple way to solve it, unless you use a touch up pen and even then I don't think results will be worth it.

Changing a flat on lifted trucks: tall bottle jack or hi-lift?

+1 for the bottle jack with the piece of wood under it. A hilift jack is a recovery tool for me. I would only change a tire with it if there's no other option. Have you seen how unstable a HL can be when lifting the tire? Changing a tire with a HL is an unnecessary risk.

    On Road Amber Lights

I use Rigid dually's with amber covers. That makes them more versatile and the fact that the covers reduce output significantly makes them better for on road use. I don't think you'd have trouble if you aim them properly with these covers.

Load range E on a tacoma?

I would go load range D. It will handle the loads a Tacoma will take, will be lighter (better for fuel and wear) and will be more comfortable.

    16x7 aluminum wheels for Tacoma!

Stock 4Runner 5 spokes should work nicely, they're also reasonably light. What's the backspacing difference between these and Tacoma wheels? I know people here use stock Tacoma steelies on Prados and 4Runners so 4Runner wheels should fit fine on Tacomas.

What direction does your RTT open and why?

I've had two layouts with three tents: One opened to the passenger side, one opened to the rear and the present one opens to the passenger side. Why? I have an awning on the driver's side. The only one I managed to open to the rear was a small tent that was 47 inches wide (The one prior to...
