MB 1120 Coming to America! Purchase, Build and Now Travel!

Wow what a photo update! I've always wanted to go to Tombstone. Did you have any bear encounters? The way I understand it you reserve tent spots that are on platforms. And reservations can be hard to get! Sorry to hear about the brakes, glad nobody was hurt. One of the real tricks to having a...

    Bicycle Transport options and ideas?

My ebikes have been caked with mud, ice snow. Never had a malfunction. Not sure about the models you have but if you're concerned, remove the battery. The control screen, connectors and motors should be waterproof.

Basic tools, sockets, short and long screwdrivers, crescent wrench. Breaker bar with up and down converters. Super basic wire repair hit with splice ends. Grease, spare fluids, funnels. Model specific things, I have a 7.3 powerstroke so I carry the big 4 sensors (CPS etc), hoses belts. Battery...

Hallmark or Outfitter - help me decide!

Hallmark makes great campers for sure. Really like their flatbed models and considered going that route, only hitch was the lack of rear dinette.. I'll say resale is hard to point to. Outfitters, especially Junos are UNICORNS. I gave up after two year of looking. Lots of space, and full heated...

You can buy 6 and ten packs of welder sparkers for about $2 per. And they will last longer than you will. Bought my last package 10 years ago.

    Garmin In-Reach Failure

I know of three failures in one weekend in Southern Utah last year. One was a critical ankle injury on the San Juan for an elderly boater. They ended up running the last fifty miles in 25 hours. Exact same weekend we had a failure on our lower Cataract packrafting loop. Battery failure and 50...

Desert Trip 2022, Tour De Hanksville (UT)

What an epic trip! I agree that Poison Springs is the best entrance into the Maze/Orange Cliffs/Hite The crossing at dirty devil is a great spot to hang out for a few days too. Some of the best day hikes on the planet from there (not hyperbole). Thanks for sharing!

Do we really need a spare?

I really can't believe people don't have spares, or at least a spare tire and the skills to install it on the rim, repair kits, inflators and everything else one might need when boondocking. Carry a spare. I've seen $6k extraction bills. I've rarely used mine but that "one time" you really need...

2020 Ram 5500 DIY Composite Panel Camper Build Thread

Those boxes look down right SEXY! Well done! I agree on the boxes. They have to follow the lines, plus you get all that additional real estate in the box around the wheel wells. Forgive if this is repetitive, but are those Highway boxes?

    New gaiagps map feature?

I've found that Gaia Overland has the Gaia typical data embedded. Strangely, the regular Gaia maps consistently missed entire lakes in the Wind Rivers last week while Overland showed them perfectly. I would still always download the critical Topo 7.5 Minute quads. Very well worth it to have...
