I like the Dragon Fly tarps. I just thought they are pretty expensive. They may be worth it but the Lumberjack tarp at $130 it seemed worth the risk. Would you have a picture of the Dragon Fly on your truck? I'd love to see how you employed it.

I've made zero progress as far as mounting an awning. I ordered a Slumber Jack awning. I haven't used it yet but I am optimistic. Ultimately it came down to cost and flexibility. I was never quite happy with the awning being on a fixed side. And then there's the cost.

Ya I took those pesky jacks off my camper. They were not light weight. I ended up taking the plunge and went with the Warn 16.5. I added the weight I lost from the jacks right back on with the bumper and winch, lol.

Good to know. I'll consider carrying them and figure out a method to carry.

That very cool. I like that very much. I haven't decided whether I was going to carry traction pads or not. Debating my need for them I guess.

Thanks it is a work in progress. I am running 35's which I felt are plenty big for my needs. Plus I have a motorcycle rail the plugs into the hitch I plan to use. I really can't have my truck any higher when getting my dual sport on the carrier. Otherwise I am running some Torklift stable loads...

For sure. It is precisely the reason I asked to see if anyone has tried it. In all likelihood I'll try a tarp style awning allowing for some flexibility as which side I can have shade.

Has anyone installed an awning on their aftermarket truck camper? I ordered my Northstar Liberty purposely without an awning because they did not offer a 270* awning. For those that did do an install. I'm assuming you locate a "stud" of sorts, some dicor, some butyl tape, appropriate length...

I was really just considering lightweight items. Maybe a shovel, a holder for camp chairs, 2 gallon rotopax, etc. I figure the ladder is designed to hold at least a 200 lb. person while static. I figured it could support 50 lbs. dynamically. I was going to try to come up with something that ties...

Wow I guess I thought there would be more given this is an Overland forum and folks are always looking to attach items to the outsides of their vehicles. Maybe not.

What, if anything do you guys mount on the ladder? Trasharoo's, chairs, fuel, something heavier? What do you use to mount it? Straps, bungees, clamps? Looking for ideas.

How do you detach the electrical? Do you have to ad some connectors or did your come that way? Thanks
