Eighteen months in the making... here's the book: Building a Teardrop Trailer: Plans and Methods for Crafting an Heirloom Camper

What makes me happy is seeing a builder bring a new one from the pages of my book. It's pretty cool. This gal belongs to a fella named Roger H.

RV repair shops + ballistic panels manufacturing build indestructible no easier way to build

I'm a little confused about the construction timeline for when I should be giving away freshly killed turkeys, but perhaps I haven't had enough coffee yet.

Is the Queen mattress in RV's a luxury or bad marketing?

Yes, we can roll it up, put straps around it, and remove it. I don't know about storing compressed; it may not fully expand.

    Material costs and compromises

To me, it makes no sense to use spray foam. It would just be a mess to clean up. I find 2" of foam board in the ceiling and 3/4" of foam board in the walls and floor to be plenty. And that's in the middle of Idaho. Even on chilly nights, you need to crack open a window and the ceiling vent, or...

How did you calculate how much headroom you need?

A 46" tall cabin (with 2" of insulation in the ceiling so a 4' tall exterior) will give you more headroom while sitting than in your tow vehicle. And that's with an 8" mattress. Some folks like to build a 5' tall cabin, but keep in mind that you'll want the warmth a foot closer to you on...

Who Builds Quality Teardrops and/or Squaredrops?

Supposedly, the guy who wrote that book hangs out here and answers a question when they pop up.
