    2M Recommendations For Beginners Please!

The roof is taken by the roof rack, it is aluminum, I might fabricate a mount and install it on top, I dont know if this would work?? but I do not want to drill the body for the antenna.. I will give a couple of setups a try with the antenna I bought and if it doesnt work the mount is NMO...

    2M Recommendations For Beginners Please!

The antenna is a Larsen NMO150B 5/8th antenna 200W and 3dB gain (with the ground plane..). Wait, i finally understood ground plane. I thought it was proper electrical grounding, now I understand... The mount is halfway up the rear glass, very close to the roof. Will this be a better setup...

    2M Recommendations For Beginners Please!

Oh ok, i've been reading up on the web and have a fair understanding of the duplex operations for the use of repeaters. I thought they had to be programmed with a computer or something... The vehicle the radio's going into is a 90 series land cruiser, i want to have it installed under the best...

    2M Recommendations For Beginners Please!

Hey guys, didn't notice this section of ExPo. I'm converting from CB as well, need more serious comms, although CB sort of sufficed this gives me more peace of mind knowing that i can communicate on much much longer distances. I will be taking my operator's test on january (this is in Venezuela...

    Looking for this bumper

Yeah, people overdo it with the lights down here, specially with lightforce lights because they're all the hype. That's a conservative setup with some of the atrocities we see here. What's worse about it is, they dont even use their vehicles for what they're decked out for, most of the people...

    Looking for this bumper

Somewhat, It is a tube bumper, but it has the decorative plates bolted in between so that space doesnt look empty, like the silver ones on the 70 posted by RMP&O, although it is a Viper plate bumper, you get the idea. The fins on top do give a slight resemblance to an ARB.. Personally, I dont...

    Looking for this bumper

Venezuelan bumper, made either by Viper or Proline, Pretty sure that one's a Proline bumper. They're sister companies, VERY similar in design and basically the same quality, which is pretty good. They have american websites, they import them to the US via a dealer in southern Florida (Miami, I...

    ARB Bumper...fog or no fog?

Get the fog and do the LED conversion. I dont have an ARB anymore but on my custom bumper I have fog light inserts that are somewhat similar to what the ARB have and was running the same exact IPF fog lights as the ARB bumpers use. I recently swapped them out for Rigid Dually's and Im extremely...

    ARB Bumper...fog or no fog?

It does look nicer, and more light is always better, even more so if you can have them on for regular driving (not necessarily off road driving). I have seen a bunch of people fit duallys in there, that would be the best bet, not very good for fog or dust but maybe the yellow covers will help???

Lack of 70 series Land Cruisers.

Extremely capable vehicles, restrictively expensive (with a purpose) they're extremely unsafe. Although if youre into Toyotas you have to own one, thankfully here in Venezuela we dont have any shortage of those, but just to be extremely picky, I want a mostly-unavailable-to-all VDJ76. I dont...

Alternative to a High Lift jack?

Very, very true. There has been a couple of times, when all else has failed, the Hilift has been the one who pulled us out of some pretty bad bogs. They're a recovery tool, not just a jack. FWIW, even though I have armor, I've NEVER lifted my truck from the bumpers or sliders. I always lift...

    Water Damage Prevention

If you cross water, it will keep out of the cab, if you stay in it for a while, you wont be able to prevent it from coming in.. On the engine compartment the story is different, and it will help if you told us which vehicle and engine you own so we can tell you exactly what you can do to help.

    Need help

Thats not a 79 troopy, rather a 76 wagon. Newest model (new front clip) and yes they're extremely capable and reliable vehicles. From the front clip back, theyre basically the same vehicles they have been since the 80s as far as frame and body goes, the engine was changed from a 3f to a 1fz and...

    Pic request: Old school stripes

I think that will be the way to go, but before that I will photoshop it to decide approximate size and color shades for the design i choose and then use that to mask and paint over!

    Pic request: Old school stripes

Thanks guys! the truck I will be applying this to (or at least considering it) is a 90 series land cruiser. Im looking to get some steelies, painting them white and some sort of stripe kit like the ones above to make it a little old school and different from all the others here.. I love the...
