We should all really do an OVRLND meetup in Bozeman at some point. I'm the green/mud colored Gladiator with the silver OVRLND running around the Gallatin.

That's a great idea to trim the slide out length, we could probably lose about 4" on ours, still fit our double megamat and give that much more standing room in our 5' truck bed. Gen 1 Tundra + OVRLND is going to be a GREAT adventure rig.

    Propex Heater in a box.....

I saw this Valiant Propex in a Roam box the other day. Been having the same thoughts, something to protect it from the elements and just hang on the outside when in use. I don't know if I'd pay $2200 for the convenience, although $1200 of that is Propex+heater accessories.

I got the solar roof ports, but only use 2 portable panels so far (~360watts). My plan is to use both eventually with some flexible panels up top on composite mounts like GrizzlyNBear setup recently, (lightweight, still provides airflow between roof and panels). I currently use the roof ports...

I think you'll love the extra height. I'm not very tall, so I can still sit up in the loft with the regular height, but barely at 5'8" when my bedding is folded up. Being able to sit "upstairs" is such an advantage to the OVRLND, I often work and read up there during the day while my wife is...

I was able to insure mine with Farm Bureau fine, I think just as a camper for the value and was a non-issue/quick, I just had to provide the invoice from OVRLND. I don't remember the amount (it's all rolled in), but it wasn't much.

    Mountain Bikes

If you placed the fork mounts on the slide out so the bikes were facing alternate of each other, it would keep the fit narrower. I'm keeping mine in my truck bed/pop-up topper that way and can fit them in a smaller area. There's also some burly bike covers meant for travel that could help, but...

    General gripe

Re:TNF I've had the same general opinion as others here over the years since they sold, my first TNF gear was a Mountain jacket in the 90s and put it through the ringer. In general the acquisition of outdoor companies by investment firms is not great for the industry, looking at you...

    General gripe

Lol, Mountain Hardwear is probably sick of me returning my Conduit softshell jacket and bibs to get the zippers fixed. However, they keep fixing them under warranty and I bought those around 2008? Those are still my workhorse outerwear for hauling wood, fatbiking, backcountry skiing, etc.

Added a PPV last night, it was pretty easy except trying to not get my black RTV sealant everywhere, ignore the black patch, that's just VHB tape I scraped off, all of this will get covered up again. It was pretty easy, I already had the hole saw and RTV from my snorkel install, I think based...

I've only built an extruded aluminum shelf that my wife and I use as a step and organizer on trips, I think there's some pictures in this forum of it. It's worked pretty well and takes about 5 minutes to remove, 10 to put back in. I'm using Volle straps to cinch it to my bed rail system and keep...

I have the standard cab height. We're about maxed out when folding over the mattress (4" Megamat) + 25 degree double bag, but totally comfy with that setup. I appreciate the lower height when exploring, we scrape a lot on our forest tracks in the mountains. We got the anodized aluminum, it...

I really appreciate the barn doors after having a hatch in various Leer caps. I've hauled things locally with the barn doors latched open and it's nicer than trying to secure a hatch to prevent bouncing/breaking over bumps etc. You do lose a little rain shelter for the tailgate though. I don't...

A bump for a beautiful JL! Talk about a go-anywhere rig. GLWS How have the STT Pros treated you? I've long been a user and fan of the STT Max's and thought about switching back to some MTs on my LJ.

Be careful where you drive your Earthroamer's...

Not surprising, weight plus too wide a rig doesn't make for a decent dirt road, much less an actual trail rig, that hog got slaughtered. What ER/EC/etc sells is an illusion of capability, the reality is that it's a fairly specialized rig that's too heavy, and too wide for much of the tighter...

The Great Truck Camper Advertising Thread (Formerly Some Lame Title)

“Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world. ” ― Archimedes That rear axle made a nice fulcrum. Apparently the camper mfg and buyer slept through high school physics.

Haha, yeah I noticed the great seal and vacuum effect with things closed up. After a year of intense weather and pressure washing I only get water in through the tailgate itself, not the OVRLND.
