    Aluminum cabinets

I still have it! I put my camper on my truck and have been using it. Installing changes at my home. The door to my shop is only 10 ft tall which requires my to remove it to get it into shop. I have another build going on in my shop-a 12 foot turtle.

    Aluminum cabinets

I appreciate constructive feedback. I get it on the thermal break. I found a great thermal break panel that is manufactured in Germany. Its 3/8 inch tick dense foam in between two thin, yet sturdy aluminum sheets. I have also found that I can make a fold or break in the rear section of cabinet...

    Aluminum cabinets

A lot of this is in the design and knowing what sort of shapes/ profiles a fabricator can make. No glue or friction is used. I am using 1/4" button head bolts with tee-bolts. The main body is light gauge aluminum. The tray on the bottom stiffens up the assembly once bolted in place.

Wires run in between tray and bottom of cabinet. Put the electrical stuff on a hinged sub frame. The only way in is by removing two upper bolts.

Looks like a 12" tall x 12" wide upper cabinet weighs 4.5 pounds per foot. Its somewhat lighter than wood.

    Aluminum cabinets

I have built and tested several types of cabinets for my camper. The range involved all wood, combination of wood and aluminum and wood, aluminum and plastic. I found all to be to heavy. I have also discovered that no mater how much glue and screws one uses, wood seems to loosen up after rough...

Cutoff switch in solar, where to put it?

Double check with the maker of your panels. Renogy manual states "Never connect the solar panel array without a battery. Battery must be connected first".

    Sprinter engine issue using bio-diesel

The Mercedes manual on this advises parking in cool shaded areas and not storing with this fuel for extended periods. I absolutely prefer diesel engines-just not this new fuel that goes in them.

    Sprinter engine issue using bio-diesel

Thanks for your reply. I used the van on several cross country trips reasonably loaded. Prior to running into the issue, several trips had been made in Mn and Iowa with same equipment load. We kept it in our heat building and never idled it. A few Mn lawmakers are aware of the issues with Mn...

    Sprinter engine issue using bio-diesel

My sprinter was a 2014 Sprinter 2500 with the 4-cylinder engine. Awesome van. Awesome engine. I had purchased it new and took great care of it. At around 14,000 miles, the engine oil warning came on. Fortunately I was within a few miles of a local Mercedes dealer which allowed me to roll in and...

    Show me your cranes, please!

Mine is perhaps more of a davit. I use a simple chain fall to lift my spare. Swings both ways and locks in place.
