Heart of Adventure: Wandering in a Jeep

Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it! I do not have a build thread. However, I'd be happy to provide whatever info or insight that I can right here in this thread. :) There really isn't much to the Jeep. The Ursa Minor J30 camper is the single most significant modification. Aside from that: -...

Heart of Adventure: Wandering in a Jeep

I am using GaiaGPS for iOS for mapping and remote navigation, offline, with the exception of downloading chunks of base maps for areas that I intend to explore. GaiaGPS just launch a completely overhauled version of their iOS app, which I've installed, but I haven't really played with yet...

Heart of Adventure: Wandering in a Jeep

Last week I couldn't find fast enough Internet. This week it took a little over 15 minutes to upload! Tumbleweed Laundry in Marfa, TX, has awesome Internet access!

You're quite welcome! Man, Padre Island is a good idea. I'm going to start heading northwest, but I'm going to keep Padre Island in mind. Maybe swing back later. Mahalos!

Heart of Adventure: Wandering in a Jeep

Sorry for the delay on this one. After Overland Expo, I drove down to Big Bend National Park, and while I was able to find plenty of wifi hotspots in Terlingua, TX, they weren't very fast. It was 8 hours to upload. :/

Thanks! I owe my timeliness all to Starbucks. I've tried uploading 2-3 gig videos from small, privately-owned coffee shops, and it takes 8 hours and brings their internal network to its knees. (I'm SO sorry, coffee shops.) However, Starbucks consistently has fat pipes, so I can push the videos...

Heart of Adventure: Wandering in a Jeep

Thanks! The Wests are indeed awesome people! Jason and I have been online-friends since around 98, and have been chatting regularly ever since. It was almost surreal to finally meet him in person, let alone turn wrenches together! Thanks! I'm glad you dig it! It totally transformed the Jeep in...

Heart of Adventure: Wandering in a Jeep

Thank you! I'm glad you dig it. It's all very raw, very candid, and fairly intimate. Like if I was crying and hugging my pillow for some reason, I might not show that. However, I do try to convey both the good and the bad.

Heart of Adventure: Wandering in a Jeep

As an aspiring professional adventurer and new van-lifer, I'm constantly brainstorming ways to sustain my mobile lifestyle. So I've decided to give a Patreon a try, which is an online service that crowd-sources funding for artists and content creators. I've begun aggressively recording tracks...

Heart of Adventure: Wandering in a Jeep

Thanks, William. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! I'll keep 'em coming. Dave, Thanks! I'm planning as I go. With a few exceptions, I don't plan more than a week ahead. I sit down at a coffee shop, do my work, and after I've logged some billable hours, I spend some time looking at maps to...

Heart of Adventure: Wandering in a Jeep

I love it. In fact, it was a key part of the inspiration for this adventure. When I purchased it, I expected that the advantages over a rooftop tent would amount to little more than a novelty. However, I feel it vastly transformed the Jeep into more of a home-on-wheels. I have an upstairs and...
