2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Hi Crystalclear, I saw your photo of the Mudstuff storage bag and it looks like a perfect fit. Did you have any issues ordering this from the UK...were there any unforeseen fees or taxes? Thanks for sharing your storage ideas.

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

I experienced a similar issue with the LP alarm last week. It occurred in the afternoon, parked outside in the sun with the door, window and vent closed. I'm in the desert outside of Phoenix, so it is HOT. The alarm has only gone off once. I opened the vent a bit and it hasn't reoccurred. I also...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Thanks for providing the photos. This will help with my installation. When I asked OEV about the Tundra bracket installation they provided a sketch of the bracket design. It looks like there are a few changes from your brackets.

    Calculating spring rate

If I add 10% for dynamic loading forces to the static load and assume the shock uses 60% of the travel for compression and 40% for rebound instead of 50/50, I would get this: (4.5 x 40%) x (new spring rate) = (1050 lb + 10%) New spring rate = 1155/1.8 = 641 This seems more practical. Answered my...

    Calculating spring rate

The following is a basic, but still incomplete, approach to determining spring rate. This approach should account for the added weight of a bumper and winch. Assume: Shock should be at the midpoint of travel in the static position. (This would provide 50/50 rebound and compression damping...

What is the best spring rate for coilovers?

The 1.5 inches is the static spring compression, not travel. Assuming there's approximately 4.5 inches of shock travel, this would mean the shaft is inserted only 1/3 into the shock body, not riding in the midpoint of the shock. If I understand correctly, in this case, the shock would have 2/3...

What is the best spring rate for coilovers?

I'm seeking the collective wisdom of the expedition members. What is the best spring rate for a 5th gen 4Runner or FJ? I've done a little research and found the following for 5th gen 4Runners and FJ's: Stock: 500 lb/in? OME: 590 lb/in All Pro, Fox, Walker Evans: 600 lb/in Icon, King...
