Intro! Tell me about the GMT400 K3500- looking at a 4-dr. Chevy 6.5L turbodiesel 4x4

Nice truck! Excellent platform: comfortable body style with the mechanically-injected engine. I wish my '95 2 door Tahoe had the mechanical IP instead of the electronic. That is definitely the weakest link in the 6.5L chain. Ditto on The Diesel Page. Best source for 6.5L info around. Been...

Here are a few from this past weekend; trip through the Ozark National Forest with the Christian Crawlers 4x4 Club. I was the only non-Jeep there! Casey

It's nice to see another older GM diesel on board! I've owned several 6.2L's over the years, and am now enjoying my current 6.5L with 270K + miles on her! Casey

    Roadmaster Active Suspension

Reviving old thread! Old thread, I know!! But I installed a set last night on my Tahoe. After cranking the front torsion bars to help clear my 33's, the truck sat level, but then the rear end would squat with much cargo or when towing a trailer. I didn't want to install a full lift kit or...

Cool shot! I've driven up and down that ledge in the "rock garden" below the dam many times in my Jeep! I've got a buddy who spends most of his weekends nearly all summer camped out at Hogan's. I've never had the guts to take the Tahoe through there... yet! Casey

Lets see your full size Chevy!!!

My 1995 Chevy Tahoe 2 door, 6.5L turbodiesel, 285/75R16 Kenda Klever M/T's on Toyota steelies, cranked torsion bars, stock rear: I have a Jeep Wrangler for more serious trail work, but the Tahoe gets my choice for driving whenever possible!! Casey

The best place on the 'net for GM 6.5L diesel information is www.thedieselpage.com by the way. Casey

    GM 6.5 liter diesel.

The 6.5L gets a bad rap, but really, it's a very decent engine. The worst thing about the 94 and later 6.5L's is their quirky electronic injection pumps. Once you know what to look for and how to work on them, they're great! I have 268,000 miles on my electronic 6.5L, and I still love her...

    Chevrolet g30(?) RV?

The chassis was supplied by GM. The body/coach would have been built by a coach manufacturer. There should be a serial number plate inside on the wall or door jamb area that says who built the coach. Casey

Very nice!!! :D Keep us updated on how you like the Wild Peaks. I was very tempted to purchase them recently, until a deal on some Kenda Klever's fell into my lap. Casey

Tire Recommendations: Mostly highway miles + some offroad

I will definitely do a long term report on these tires. I couldn't find hardly any information at all on them when researching tires. We'll see how they hold up. Casey

Tire Recommendations: Mostly highway miles + some offroad

Well, I ended up going a completely different route than I originally intended! I purchased a set of 5 Toyota steel wheels, with 4 brand new Kenda Klever M/T tires in size 285/75R16, with a nearly matching used spare Maxxis Bighorn in size 255/85R16. I didn't intend to get such a gnarly...

    95 Chev Tahoe build

Thanks for the update! I too have a 95 2 door with the 6.5L diesel. I've got 264K miles and she's still running great! Casey On edit: I just now saw your reply over at GMC4x4.com!
