There is only one reason I get carpet in our area. Humidity. Moisture gets trapped under the vinyl and and rots the floors. You never see it with carpet as it breathes. Other areas this isn't a problem, but it is here.

That truck looks just like mine in HS. It was gold as well, 300 straight 6, manual transmission, and manual locks, windows, etc. Even had a rear window slide. Was an amazing truck that literally never gave up. I sold it with over 380k on it, still running well.

Pulled the mock up off, sanded everything, and painted. I let it dry for a day, and then cut down the rails to their final length. Once that was done, I used 3M adhesive sealant down the 4 channels on the rail, stuck it up on the wall, and permatex thread sealant/locker for the stainless bolts...

I've started the L track on the trailer. It will support the awnings now, as well as add support above for the coming 15 series 8020 that will be used for all the new solar and carrying racks. I spent basically all day drilling holes every 4 inches and then thread tapping each hole 1/4"-20...

I'll keep an eye out for the overheating issue you describe. As for the awning. The Bush Company awning has been excellent! It drains just fine, and we have had it in some VERY heavy rain. I've not seen any pooling at all as long as you tie it off properly and taunt.
