You could run a 10G wire from the battery to the bed, and find a place to pass the wire thru into the inside. run a ground wire from the lights to the frame/body. The Bedrug works fine on the knees and keep it warmer when cold. = just FYI=brian

Like above =Epoxy is a good base coat for most paints and even body filler. You don't need to follow an epoxy primer with an epoxy topcoat, you can use an automotive base/clear, an automotive 2k urethane. I put my top coat on a couple of days later, I also pick up the spray gun for $10.00 from...
Nice looking for a Mall queen, I don't think it would stand up to night/day deer hits. These big heavy front bumper sold on the market will save your wheels if run into a cow/deer. just MO=brian
I used 2 pcs 2"x3" .125 wall 60" long and with some cutting ended with 58" its simple upgrade for towing. If you use the M416 tub the front drain needs to be cut out and a 2"x2"patch added.
I looked up factory spec on your model=Base Weight: 1,262 pounds. That seems very light, maybe add 400lbs for water/LP/food/ clothing and bedding, still light. Check the glove box on GVW.
do you have A/C on camper?? good luck=brian
I brought my paint/primers from www.tcpglobal.com, and cost was $150 shipped to my home. DIY and it will last for years, I'm sure your kid will like it. As for bed liners I was shocked by Xliner=$400. and would sand blast inside only. That why I went to Pep-Boys=$50. Gallon and a have 1/2 left...

What is the length you are try to make? is appears you already have 48" or better. I don't like the Weld job on the stock cast bracket, maybe you could grind the weld off and reuse the casting??
I modified my M416 hitch to 48" to the center of the pintle, trying to keep it stock looking.=brian
