2014 JKUR - What is that Buzzing in the Dash?

For diagnostic purposes, maybe just unplug it? I didn’t even know there was a cabin air sensor, although I haven’t cracked into my service manual in several years, I find the html format to be very annoying.

2014 JKUR - What is that Buzzing in the Dash?

Did you ever figure this out? I’m still certain that mine is transmission related, but haven’t had success running it down yet. I’m pretty much in parts-cannon mode now.

Mattress replacement for FSR roof top tent.

And I just used them for the first week. They were spectacular. I got the 7.5 thickness and found it very comfortable. I’m easily 230 lbs, and the kids grandfather is pushing 300, both of us found the thickness and support to be awesome vs the original mattress One issue noted, the mats did...

AT CHASER TRAILER FOR SALE (SOLD)

That is shockingly clean and nice. I’m not sure mine looked that good even after I did all the repairs and overhaul and re-paint. GLWS.

    Leaking front drive shaft seal

When you say “really badly” what does that mean? Leaves a puddle when parked or just flinging oil all over? How often are you adding oil? Is the differential breather plugged? Do you know if the sealing surface on the input flange/yoke is destroyed or good? All these things matter...

Mattress replacement for FSR roof top tent.

I recently replaced my RTT mattress with Exped Megamats. No real use experience yet, but when deflated they sure fit nicely.

    Refrigerator Question?

I’ve noticed a few posts from various people? Lately that seem rather bot-like. Similar pattern, re-stating a question while providing no specific answer but lots of words. I initially chalked it up to cultural differences, but more and more I also suspect that we have bots racking up post...

Welding Square tube to Square tube

Yes, let whichever side is less important overhang and burn it in. You are talking about the thickness of a weld bead in offset. Most of it will disappear and you can clean a bit up with a grinder, or use a smaller tube for the upper section.

Welding Square tube to Square tube

Also far easier to weld, for several reasons. Don’t do this with something you plan to fish wires through or you will experience a “DOH!” moment!

Welding Square tube to Square tube

Draw with CAD, Measure with Tape, Mark with Chalk, Cut with Torch, Weld with Stick… 0.07” Will be hard to notice in reality and will be consumed in the weld, except that the wall might be so thin you keep burning through it. Personally, I usually try to cut 1/2 the angle on each, I.E. 2 @ 5...

RTT recommendation for family of 4

It will be good / fine for young kids if you’re not socked in long periods in bad weather. There is plenty of room to have 4 people sit in the corners and play cards or something, and getting the annex will make it feel downright huge when you take time to set it up… and that is a good...

Weird problem with my 2007 Sprinter

No specific MB experience here, but lots of general diesel: Is it a variable vane turbo? It sounds like the variable vane plate (slightly different names in different brands) is sticking or worn. Or the solenoid that dumps the variable vane pressure is sticking. My 6.0 Ford used to do the...

Help troubleshooting my 12v system please

I believe you are likely to cook batteries if you have any high amp charge source without a high draw (mismatched) but I am an amateur and not an Electrical Engineer. I have found that my 200w solar and Victron MPPT does a decent job of limiting power when not needed, some days only producing a...

Help troubleshooting my 12v system please

Are your batteries the same? Swap house and starter positions. I would be willing to bet the fault follows the battery. If that starter battery is more than a couple of years old, I would replace it. Normally I’m all about cheap troubleshooting first, but you will never know 100% if you...

Help troubleshooting my 12v system please

Maybe also tell us what solar panel size you have and what its charging voltage is? You might just be cooking off your water and coincidentally noticed a fried battery at the same time you made a change?

Help troubleshooting my 12v system please

My next step would be to disconnect both batteries and check their voltages separately, check the water in them, and then charge them individually, disconnected, with a plug-in charger to see if there is a problem. After that, reconnect each battery to its respective system without the relay...

Help troubleshooting my 12v system please

Is the VSR adjustable? Possible that you just have it set to open too low? Various vehicles have different needs to crank properly, and a weak (or even new) battery with a relay opening too low might not crank you over enough. You could be diagnosing a combination of electrical system and...

    Solar top off system

At 30 watts, 2.2-2.5 amps in ideal sun?, it seems unlikely that you could damage a Suburban battery with occasional use. You would be lucky to push 10 amp-hours a day into the battery.
