We drove the east and west access 3 times and hiked the impassable 5 miles twice, to see whether our planned expedition could be pulled off. Met only the occasional cow.
During our event same thing - just cows.

after all the hard core adventurers had bailed out we were left with only 4 guys in 4 marginally suitable vehicles - but we made it!

glad you asked my friend, HL230P30 (cute name!), part time 4WD in German would be "zuschaltbarer Allradantrieb" - full time 4WD (that would be the 463 G-Class) is "permanenter Allradantrieb".
Really sorry to tell you that part time 4WD does not necessarily distribute equal torque to front and...
