I love your build. When I designed my drawer I saw your pull out table and modified it to work with my design, but forgot where I saw it. Thank you for the idea! Also, the Baja lights, both types, are another great idea that I'm going to barrow. I love your thinking outside the box.
How much space is between the end of the mattress and the inside of the rear door? I really don't care for the galley set up, wondering if one could build a traditional teardrop galley with interior cabinets and convert the forward compartment to slide out storage.
I can't wait to see something like this come out for the new Jeep Truck, especially if it has a removable top. It will be the perfect overland vehicle!
If you're using turnbuckles to secure the drawer and you have no bottom the sides would spread outward as the turnbuckle is tightened. Also I needed a bottom to suit my pull out table.
Also, This is the fridge cover and slide I made when I had my JKU. It was tight, and even when in the desert...
I'm no carpenter but I always feel better working with 3/4" ply because in my mind it holds screws better and just give me a better margin of error. With that in mind I skeletonized my carcass to reduce weight where I could, something to think about.
hmm, interesting. I'd love to see them both in one place, we may have to make the next expo. I assumed the conqueror would be faster to set up, we'd likely travel with the dinette already set up as a bed and only utilize the fold out queen for longer stays, treating it like a teardrop while...
Did they have a 490 there? I can see the 440 feeling small but the 490 has a king size bed/dinette Plus a queen size fold out. Thats likely where we would wind up. I like the Patriot trailers, but we've done the roof top tent deal before and since we like to travel every day, I don't want a big...
I was looking at the build sheets and a 440 or 490 Extreme isn't much more than a fully built SoCal or Moby1. I certainly like that they are all metal. We were set on a built SoCal, but now I'm taking a hard look at these guys. They are based out of Ohio, not too far from us.
I didn't make it, it's sold out of Australia by a company called clear view mirrors. The drop slide itself is the Easy Slide 100 Plus, they have multiple sizes for different fridges. Best part is it was around $600 shipped. I got in contact with them via their website. The slide is VERY well...
Here shortly I'm going to take my wife's carpeted rear cargo mat out of her limited (she got my all weather mat out of my trail) and cut it down to fit the top of the box and driver's side wing. Then have an upholstry shop sow some piping around the edges and I'll secure it with a few button...
I posted this in the big build thread, but also wanted to post this in my thread to show the final results. Next stop is getting dual battery, solar and wiring in order...
A view from the driver's seat
For those of us who are making plans, what custom things did you have added? I'm like you and only want to do this once, my trailer will be LOADED... but I certainly haven't thought of everything.
