    I get 20-25 mpg on average with mixed driving. As for the getting hot at sustained highway speeds - that's a new one to me! It is possible that it was either 1) not the turbo version, 2) not the intercooled version, or 3) not an overdrive transmission...but I have not heard that nor has it been...
