I'd be interested to learn more about how they come up with those numbers. It does seem kind of arbitrary. I suspect that it's more about liability than engineering. Tires are rated at 3,970 a piece to that's not the limiting factor.

Yep, it's 8.5 feet, same length as the stock bed. It definitely looks shorter though. I've had multiple comment on it.

Definitely. I thought you meant headlight issues from side to side not up and down.

I added the Thuren adjustable track bar to help keep the axle centered. Haven't noticed any issues. No adaptive cruise control on my truck so didn't have to mess with that.

I've been super happy with the camper. I think it's probably one of the highest quality domestic units available. Not that the US is setting the bar very high with camper build quality... We've had it almost two years, towed it 6,000 miles, and probably spent 45+ nights in it with no issues.
