I was told that ''mostly the 3.0's are about the same as the 2.5's, but with a thicker stronger shaft for more extreme uses''. Since the shaft is larger, the piston isn't exactly 0.5" more effective. The extra strength is great for coil overs, but regular suspension, on a regular truck...
In Ohio you can only have 4 forward facing lights.
We have a ton of illegal vehicles here. And I've seen plenty of yahoo's driving with their lightbars on. Lately people have been taking care of that problem themselves.
Softer and taller. But OEM's are limited by weak shocks and safety regs. You're better off with 4" coils from BDS, Carli, etc.
Coil swaps are free unless you ding up the coils. But the coils are still cheap. Keep in mind that a 4" spring only nets you 2" more travel. So the travel...
Search it out yourself on the jeep and ram forums at least, before making a decision.
I made mine. I'm steering clear of the hemi and 3.6 for now. Hopefully the diesel is good. Too bad about the transmission though.
Got a picture of the radius arm links? Mine look exactly the same as Fords.
For me, one of the deal breakers with the PW is it no longer has 4.56 gears. 4.10 like my previous truck, ain't enough. The Fords 4.30 are marginal, but possibly ok. The sway bar is a 1min ordeal with an electric...
Better be one heck of a good engine and transmission.
All that jeeps are missing is an engine and trans worth being proud of. Not since the 4.0 has the Wrangler had anything nice. No manual in Wranglers is the dumbest move ever. They were the perfect easy vehicle to learn manuals in.
My garage is filled with mothballs. They come in perforated plastic bags now. Seems to work good in there.
Truck stays outside. I'm going to get the fluid film kit and go to town. Thanks for that idea. Will try zip tying some under the hood.
Waiting for the harness squirrels to...
Front with the Warn bumper is exactly the route I'm taking, if/when I add a camper.
We're always trying to move weight forward. Adding weight to the rear bumper is not going to help.
For winter or a canada trip, I'm considering an extra spare like this:
Although a little ''supply trailer''...
Payload and ground clearance are the big ones for me. And the 7.3 is actually quite small. Smaller than a 6.2. It's like an LS with a bigger intake and oil pan.
It's a shame that it's even called an off road package. The trucks should have had these options available years ago...
Yeah, no thanks. I'm not seeing anything on the higher trim packages that I want. Except for black grill and wheels. But I can drop those off at any body shop. XLT seems more than plush enough.
And the Tremor running boards will surely be on Ebay eventually.
Squirrels ate one. They got the CAN buss. That takes out the whole truck. I sent one squirrel to the pearly gates today. The others ran off. Set up a perfect kill box around a pile of grass seed. I'll get another in the morning. They broke the truce, so the gloves come off.
Mines a...
I'm worried that any further electrical gremlins will be blamed on a chewed up harness from the past. Would be nice to have a warranty.
I'm on the fence. I'm in the sticks where slightly used base models are in high demand. I might get a decent deal actually.
I prefer the c channel because it's easier to mount onto, easier to clean, flexes when it needs to, and most of all..........c channel isn't precisely engineered for the specific truck bed. You can u bolt anything, anywhere pretty safely.
I'm afraid that bolting a bed down to the wrong spot...
If I was buying a new truck, specifically for a flatbed camper box, I'd go with F350 chassis cab. Most likely DRW. Not buy a pickup, and then remove the bed. Pickups are all boxed, chassis cabs are all c channel to the best of my knowledge. I still prefer c channel for this...
