Hard-Sided Pop-Up Camper by Hiatus Campers

What a cool design. One of the huge issues to canvas pop up campers is condensation, here in the mid west to east. If you applied your hardside pop up design to something like a slide in FWC Hawk, with a shower and roof top AC, you'd pretty much rule that entire camper segment. I'd love a...

Quadrasteer Worked So Great for Chevy, Right? Now Maybe It’s the F250’s Turn

Quadrasteer Worked So Great for Chevy, Right? Now Maybe It’s the F250’s Turn

Got a few. As did the dust bunnies in the body shop. The rear steps out a bit more than people know, and plastic fenders....... Thrust angle issues are no joke. And it's a safe bet that this option won't be combined with the Ford OEM elocker. I'll take the locker. This, like Fords...

Quadrasteer Worked So Great for Chevy, Right? Now Maybe It’s the F250’s Turn

Pricing dropped from $5000 to $2000 in 2005. Then again the 15,000 mile axle service interval with $100+ worth of gear oil............

Quadrasteer Worked So Great for Chevy, Right? Now Maybe It’s the F250’s Turn

[Ok sure. Quadrasteer was great. Perfectly reliable with no major alignment issues. I loved it. Every overland vehicle needs Quadrasteer. Maybe we can band together and get Dodge to adopt it as well. Those tie rods were awesome. Look at that thick, super strong rock crushing power...

Truck Suggestions? Let's hear your TC hauler thoughts!

17+ 6.2's have 87 mufflers. There's no more screaming going uphill. Just keep your eyes on the road and off the rpm gauge. 4th gear is fun, use the ''minus'' button.

Quadrasteer Worked So Great for Chevy, Right? Now Maybe It’s the F250’s Turn

Nope. Quit putting failed gm designs on my trucks. Don't need it. I know how to use my mirrors to back into a parking space. Ever drive a quadrasteer truck with thrust angle problems? Apparently nobody at Ford has.

    Goodyear Duratrac's on Frontier?

Every single truck I've ever driven cupped, or feathered tires. Rotate them every 5000, try to scrub less when turning. Heavy understeer vehicles do this. DT's may be wiggly at first. I'd run the E's. DT's are a bit soft.

Truck Suggestions? Let's hear your TC hauler thoughts!

Weird that your truck is 400# lighter than my XL. Sounds like a flooded scale. The 7.3 is nice, but you don't need it at all, for a 10,000# truck camper combo. My work truck, 6.2l, weighs 11,000# with it's loaded utility box and crane, and even with pitiful 3.73 gears, it can run over or...

Looking for expedition vehicle suitable for family of 5

Crew cab truck. Ford or Dodge 550/5500 with a large box on it's back. Doesn't matter how long the trucks cabs is, or if it uses potential living space. There's plenty of living space outdoors, go outside. A 550 is still plenty long for a decent box. If you're budget is big enough, you...

    Digressive or progressive shocks

You can dish the piston and use a preload spacer. I wouldn't, but there's all kinds of weird stuff you can do, if you have a big enough bucket of shock oil.

5th Gen Ranger Discussions / Reviews / News

I think the old rangers niche was ''cheapness''. It was never competitive with a Taco. This Ranger, it seems like they want to make a competitive, nice, truck for this segment. With the new Taco's and Zr2's woes, it was a perfect moment to jump in. The looks of the truck are growing on...

    Digressive or progressive shocks

Linear. Sorry. King and Fox 2.5 are nearly linear. You can add shim preload to make them more digressive Digressive shocks are a bandaid for lack of suspension and shock travel. So budget shocks like Bilstein 4600 and 5100 are perfect for such. This is where the ''firm ride''...

Dumbest thread on EP? "New Defender Rage/Hate Thread" ?

I don't think I could even roll a soft ball under that. Let people vent. The Defender looks shameful, and Land Rover should be ashamed of what they've done.

Ram 2500 gasoline extended gas tank help

My point is that truck gas tanks are often small for a reason. The bigger they are, the more likely they are to burst or tear in an accident. Titan doesn't list it for the exact same reason why the OEM tank is nowhere near as big as it can be. My truck has room for 100 gallons easy, but my...
