My Quikfire arrived yesterday and I must say I'm pretty darn impressed. It can be cranked up to give considerably more heat than my Camp Fire In a Can and its like 1/6th the physical size. IMO a much better product, especially for those limited on space.
Check out the Victron 702, it a nicer unit than the 700. Has the ability to do one of the following:
1. measure starter voltage
2. measure mid-voltage (and give a warning if the battery string is getting out of balance)
3. measure the battery temperature
…700 doesn't have the option for...
The Viewstar 20A PWM wasn't mounted anywhere on the vehicle. I'd just carry it and set it up any time I'd need solar. It would just sit on the bumper while charging via solar panel and then would pack it up when done. I wanted more of a permanent set up that could just be plug and play so to...
BTW I saw someone mentioned the Renogy ViewStar 30A PWM as something that fits the bill since its charge cycle is fully programable. I also want to point out that the 20 AMP version of ViewStar may be better suited for you since you indicated you needed something to support 200W. The ViewStar...
Its been in LR3's engine compartment for about 8 months now and zero issues with it under the hood. I only power the MPPT up when its needed (to not suck any Ah out of the battery) ...I have it fused to the battery so remove the 25 amp fuse to power it off and put the fuse in to power it up...
I suppose there may be "better" (whatever that means) MPPTs available but none are as small as the Morningstar sunsaver and it's also rated for extreme temps, so it capable of being mounted in the engine compartment which is exactly why I'm using it in my LR3. IMO you'd be hard pressed to find a...
The SunSaver absolutely can absorb at 14.8. The charge cycle is fully programmable with the usb cable interface they sell and their free SW. you can set absorption to anything you need.
Update: I received the tracking info from Mike at Quikfire and it looks like I'll have it on Monday. In my communication with Mike and his follow thru, he appears to be a stand up guy.

Thanks for the contact info. I called John yesterday and he told me he sold the Quikfire idea and tooling to a guy in Arizona about 2-3 years ago. He was able to point me to some contact information to Mike Brewer, the new owner. I contacted Mike yesterday via phone and Mike apologized for...
WeeJeep2 - how long did it take to receive your Quikfire once you placed your order? I ordered mine on the 29th of Feb and haven't heard anything from them nor have I received anything. I don't see any contact info on their website either. I tried messaging them via PayPal but again nothing...
