I don't have IFS, but a solid axle front. I have a TrueTrac in the front, and an ARB in the rear. There are times when I wish I had a full locker in the front, but for 90% of what I do the TT works great. A bit of understeer when I turn the hubs, but that's about all I can gripe about.
Recently I acquired a NIB ARB extended fridge slide (thanks @inonil) . According to ARB that extension can be used for several things, including jerry can style water containers. The issue I saw was even with the slide you needed to use a lot of muscle to get the container out.

Thanks. My overhang would be at the rear/fat end. I suspect I'm going to be OK, but I would like to know if I can push the overhang off the back to 32".
Ordered today, but I do have one install question. How much overhang off the load bar can the tent have in the rear? Right now I'm looking at anyplace between 24" and 32". Is there a magic number that is too much?
Ditto, also DOA, in a DOA engine at around 135K. My guides were in OK shape. The chain just snapped. No noise. Nothing jammed, in fact the engine was still spinning as I rolled to a stop. Problem is the 22RE is an interference engine. Bent the #4 exhaust valve.
Sort of. The 22RE were all W-series 5 speeds with a 21-spline gear drive transfer case. The 22RET (turbo) received a R-series transmission, the highly desirable R151F, with a 23-spline gear drive transfer case (not chain). You can use the R151F bellhousing to bolt the V6 R150F transmission...
Your solution is the 3.4L 5VZFE from a 1995-2004 Tacoma or 4Runner. Common swap and very supported in the aftermarket. It's still a swap with the work involved, but going from 3.0 to 3.4 is easier than 2.4 to 2.7.
