I had 3/8" HDPE backed with 1/8" ****ty steel skid plates on my 7,600# Tundra and they probably saw more action than most will ever see and never failed me.....blanket statement is blanket.....

The time mine wouldn't engage in 4W LO I was at Windrock as well......mine ended up being a cracked low range gear in the t-case.......then there was the broken front pinion shaft, pretzeled rear drive shaft, broken mirror, crushed fender.....I'm pretty sure Windrock hates Tundras :p

How'd you like that set up Martin? I've been toying with getting a camper shell for my DC and doing something like what you had. Did the door on your shell open farther than parallel with the top of the shell? Wondering if the tent keeps the door from opening all the way up or if...

No real updates, just driving and enjoying it's simplicity. I do still love my Cooper S/T Maxx's, they continue to hold the title of "best all-around tire I've ever owned" :ylsmoke:.

Dual cases were good, but I really liked my 4-speed Atlas!

So far so good, but they only have about 10k miles on them so far. I'm sure I'll go back with the same size next time though.
