YES. Very interested to see how you handled clearance issues with 33x12.5s on the front fender flares and the rear pinch welds. Also curious why you switched to compmotives instead of keeping the 17" steelies you developed. Thanks!
I've replaced both my fob cases and the batteries. The cases I bought were these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IPAAZI4
You should replace the battery as shown in the video as long as you have the case open: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121402413586
So total spend is about $26 per key to get...
True, I probably should've given it a shot. I just didn't want to risk getting stuck part way through the job and having no options and a blocked driveway! ;)
The air suspension is not a money pit, just plan on replacing the compressor if you get an 05-07 LR3 with the ****ty Mitsubishi compressor. Once you replace it with the AMK brand, you'll be fine. It's an easy job to do yourself if you have any amount of wrenching skill. Cost is about $600.
The...
You have to remember that the LR engineers were not motivated to make a vehicle stop the shortest. They were motivated to make a vehicle exceed safety requirements by an acceptable margin while keeping costs down.
The aftermarket does not have these constraints, they can sell you the best...
Can the Range rover sport Brembo calipers and rotors be fitted to an LR3/4 without extra adapters/shims/carriers? (Assuming you have 19"+ wheels of course).
No. The key works perfectly after replacing the battery WITHOUT any extra steps to pair or re-program. Now both the 10+ year old keys for my LR3 work perfectly, have great range, and look like this:
265-65-18s shouldn't give you any problems. It should fit in the stock spare location without issue and you will not need to move the sensor wire.
I run 285-65-18 and can still fit in the spare location (mind you it is fully aired down and needs a lot of dish soap to slide up in there). I also...
You are not going to be able to cut your extended rails and have them look nice. I recommend buying the short rails off ebay. You should be able to get a set for <$300. Then I would remove your extended rails and sell them on ebay. You should be able to get >$400 easy. Bam. >$100 profit and you...
Looks like the tab that rides in the retainer clips in the caliper broke off? What do the pads look like off the vehicle? Seems like a pretty simple fix. New pads.
You can fit bigger tires underneath. I have 285/65/R18s on my LR3 which are about the size of your 265/70s and I have the full size spare in the stock location...
I have to keep it deflated and use a lot of dish soap and swearing to get it slid up in there but it works.
Haha,
The "very special" comment probably means it spent the first year of it's life going through multiple levels of post assembly line repair/rebuild before it would pass Quality Control.
I just replaced the batteries in both of my LR3 fobs. Unfortunately for you I did not test the key while the battery was removed from the circuit board and I did not wait until they were completely toast before replacing the battery.
To replace the batteries you need 3 things:
- A replacement...
MontyMog, please let us know the part # of that steel pan conversion you got from rsgear. I will need a tranny service soon and this would be such a nice upgrade. Looking forward to the write up. Thanks.
I feel sad for that L322.
I didn't realize the RRC came with body color D-pillars at one point. They look so much better blacked out for the 'floating roof' effect.
Huh, I guess I got these confused with the OEM 17" wheels that came on some LR3 V6, but after some reading it appears those only came on S models that weren't sold in the US.
