Freelander wheels will not fit. It has a different pattern and hub bore.
Just get yourself some 10 spoke 18" wheels off of an LR3 V8 SE. They come in 2 styles:
They show up on ebay and Craigslist all the time. Do not buy the 5 spoke wheels from a V6 LR3, they will not fit over the front...
Why are you all bringing Mitsubishi's into the mix?
OP already stated that the TRD Toyota wasn't luxury enough and now you want to talk about a Mitsubishi where leather isn't even standard equipment?
Leather Heated seats are 90's luxury. The TRD Toyota is about as base trim as it gets when it comes to interior, even the 4runner 'Limited' is still a Toyota on the inside. The Grand Cherokee and the LR4 are on a whole other level for comfort, gadgets, and features.
Your experience in the LR4 cannot be compared to the Discovery sport. If you want to feel how the discovery sport is going handle you need to drive a 4 door evoque.
Unless you have the cash and can wait for the the next Discovery (the replacement for the LR4, NOT discovery sport) you're...
Fix the hood switch first. It might be just a coincidence with the windshield cover. The hood switch is very easy to repair, just disconnect the hood sensor near the latch and splice the wires together.
I thought I'd throw my comments in since my 2005 LR3 just hit 150,000 Miles. I've owned it since 2007 when it had only 23K on it.
Yes, the front bushings wear out between 80-100K miles due to the weight of the LR3. The cost of pushing out the bushings and replacing the ball joints is about the...
Yeah, I just stole the wheels off a Defender Spec Challenge 90. I'll update these to a more RR looking rim.
Maybe I'm missing something, but It would seem that the SVO team could figure out a rotor caliper combo that gives them an 18" rim option again. I'll try to scale their modern RR rims to...
I Guess you guys missed the Silk Road expedition. They kitted out the new FFRR with Expedition rack, winch, skid plates, and even outdated driving lights.
Fair. But it still needs to be said that any experience with a 2004 or older model LR is irrelevant for any discussion of reliability and depreciation of their recent lineup.
Also, I don't know why reliability even needs to be a concern when the OP is a MOPAR guy, haha.
Please do not compare your D1/D2 experience to a LR3/LR4. Newer Rovers are head an shoulders above those old trucks in terms of reliability. Stop perpetuating this stereotype that is now 10+ years old.
Are you just doing pads or are you doing pads and rotors?
The first time I did my brakes i used the OEM kit from AB but I think that the OEM pads create wayyy too much dust. the front wheels turn black in 2 weeks. The next time i did them, i got some ceramic pads from amazon:
Front Pads (V8...
They are not making a Discovery Sport with a low range. Instead, they have a single speed transfer case and are giving the 9-speed trans a granny gear.
"Nine closely stacked gear ratios provide excellent response and allow for a very low first gear, improved mid-range acceleration and a tall...
Keep in mind that this new Discover is actually the "Discovery Sport", replacing the Freelander 2/LR2. Next year they will announce the actual new Discovery to replace the Discover 4/LR4.
Yeah, whoever told you that was wrong, at least for the seats and seatbelts. Obviously, hvac and multimedia controls are not swapable, but everything else is a couple clips and bolts. I think the hardest part is removing the D-pillar trim.
Hi All,
I've found that I'm doing a lot more people hauling than gear hauling lately and my 5 seat LR3 isn't really cutting it. I'm curious if there is anyone in the New England area that would be willing to swap their 3rd row seats/seatbelts/dpillar moulding from their 7 seater for the built...
Whatever you do, do not paint it flat black like every other ************ with a can of plastidip does. It doesn't look 'stealth', it looks like ****.
Sticking with alpine white is a good choice. A more modern LR color like Nara Bronze or Fuji White would be cool to see.
Maybe your temperature warning? It dings once whenever the temp drops below 39F. Happens all the time in the winter because my LR3 stays in the warm garage and then dings after it's outside for a couple minutes. Not sure why this would trigger in the summer... maybe check the connection on the...
