Overland Journal Project Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4)

do you still plan to pursue or is the idea being shelved? How were you planning to get the bump stops on without removing the strut?

Scott - any progress on the item you mentioned at the start of this thread - the idea you had for when the LR4 hits a suspension fault and lowers to the bump stops?

Scott...regarding the spacers, is 1.25" the minimum needed or do you think you could get away with a 1" (or less) spacer?

Scott, the company below makes a thinner set with their 1" option for the LR3/4, which equates to 25.4mm. Made in the USA (Sparks, NV) also and hub centric. They will even do custom thickness as well. http://www.motorsport-tech.com/special/truck/landrover_s?Next=16-30 Where did you source...

Thank you Campfire in a can

I have a CFIAC and I echo their excellent customer support. When my CFIAC arrived, I noticed a faint crack forming in the log. Contacted them the next day and a new log arrived two days later at no cost to me. Even told me to keep the old one :)

Is there a vin decoder to tell me if an LR3 has the hd package?

I have the Landrover Electronic Part Catalog software installed on my laptop at home and as a part of it when you enter the VIN it'll display the entire build sheet for that VIN. Feel free to shoot me the VINs and I'll tell you if its got the HD package or not. I've done this for several folks...

Mesh globe replacement for camping lantern reviews?

I don't understand why you think you can't use the lantern simpley because the globe broke. I'm a coleman collector and ALL my lanterns will light and stay lit without the globe on. Sure you may see some flickering in the wind and in very cold weather, but you'll still have pretty significant...

Steve, will there be any option for those of us from the original beta of the IIDTool (for my LR3) to be able to get our HW upgraded to the new HW w/ BT? I assume their would likely be an additional expense, but I don't want to be left out of features that will be enabled in the corresponding app.

    Coleman peak 1

Ah Coleman stoves, my area of expertise :) Thats the Coleman Peak 550 and its a multi fuel which will burn on only Coleman Fuel(CF) or Kerosene. Its not "Dual Fuel" in the traditional Coleman definition, i.e. Coleman Fuel and Unleaded Fuel. The 550s came with 2 generators. The one...

    Coleman Stoves

Btw forgot to mention that you can also add some fuel stabilizer to the unleaded that helps prevent it from gumming up.

    Coleman Stoves

Best to run them on Coleman Fuel and only use unleaded when there is nothing else. If you do use unleaded say for a week or two trip, it best to empty or burn off all the unleaded fuel. Then fill with a bit of coleman fuel and slosh it around in the tank and then burn all that off (don't just...
