I embedded some aluminum rec tubing in the roof for structure and the pop top will have some G10 plates for the hinge mounting areas.
What trailers are you talking about? Units that you have manufactured?
Getting closer :D We've been out in it 3 times this year. I have done a bit more work to the top mold but its slow progress. I've been working on a car project this summer too so splitting time
Thanks for the kind comments. I bought standard XPS from a building supply store which I think is 25psi compressive strength. I think I went overkill on the rivets. I used probably 1200 rivets in the whole build :D It was a combo of piece of mind and I think it added a fair amount of strength...
You didn't miss it. I haven't made it to a scale yet but that is on the to do list. Surprisingly we don't have any easily accessible scales in the immediate area other than recycling centers. Need to make some calls.
Thanks. I agree. I believe this trailer will last a lifetime.
Yes the last 15% of this trailer is taking way longer than anything.
New quick video update from earlier today. Sprayed some Raptor! Glad that is done finally
Thanks for the positive thoughts @tlin :)
So I'm still alive and I have actually done something to the trailer recently. I know its a bit of a shock :D
Got the last two pieces of aluminum trim glued on, taped off some lines for where the Raptor liner is going and I got the switch panel...
If you are talking about the vacuum table I used a rubberized roofing sealer on it. I did about 7-8 coats of Henry's Solar Flex. Health is good. Got all the cancer chopped out last year. Thanks for asking :)
Slow :D Started a new company and have been super busy with the day job. Plus winter sucks (n) Nearly done with the exterior aluminum corner trim. Planning on getting that done when the weather breaks and then hopefully shooting some Raptor liner when it warms up too. I know I've said it for...
It's still on the list. I've been inundated with work the past couple months along with starting a new business. I'll get back to those this fall I promise :)
All doors are black surrounds. I've already glued on the back pieces. I may come back later and paint them or something. Not too concerned about it. The aluminum color looks pretty good too
I started on the aluminum corner trim a couple months ago but that got interrupted by some kidney cancer :D I'm 4 weeks post op from a partial nephrectomy. Luckily it was caught early and they got it all removed. Non metastasized, no lymph invasion, non aggressive type so pathology and...
Thanks Scott. You are right. All the small stuff takes as long as the big stuff.
Thanks :) I didn't build that deck though :). It would have taken me a couple years to get it done :D
I got some temp fillers made for the bed platform openings and got all the t molding put in. No video on...
Not too much done but a few things today. House renovations are finally over. This thing saw light for the first time ever today after a bit of cleaning :) Built a jockey wheel and got the other rubber floor piece cut and put in. Took a night shot with the lights on. Looks pretty cool to me :)...
It's been a weird year and a half :) I have a prototype set of brackets on my bench in the shop. So many other things took priority over that. It's on my list of things to complete this summer. Just finishing up a bunch of work on the house so I'll actually have room out by the shop soon to get...
