I’ll chime in just to throw in my vote for the Ridgeline. The J series V6 engine that Honda still uses in the Ridgeline has been in use for something like 25 years. It’s extremely smooth, torquey, and reliable. I have an Accord with the 3.0 liter version of the engine with 235,000 miles on it...
I have a very similar truck to yours with similar goals in mind! I also follow you on YouTube and love the content you’ve posted there thus far. Looking forward to following along here as well!
Here is the tread on my truck if you’re interested!
Early ‘99 F-350
They sold around 1.5 million of the new Cherokee during its model run. I haven’t driven one and wouldn’t buy one because it’s not really my kind of vehicle, but everything I’ve seen says they were pretty decent and 1.5 million sold in less than 10 years is nothing to sneeze at. I’d consider that...
That’s remarkably bad work. Glad you’re taking the time to give the community the information and heads up.
Ultimately this is a big part of why I don’t let really anyone else touch my vehicles and I do everything I possibly can myself. Even with my house, I did essentially everything myself...
This! I have heard so many people complain about how all they want is a base model vehicle and if automakers would just make a simple car they’d sell like hotcakes.
In addition to the wrangler you can also get base model pickups and base model cars. But guess what, everyone buys the higher trim...
This is pretty similar to what Edison motors is doing. Theirs is still new but seems extremely promising both in the semi truck variant and pickup truck kits they’re working on with the Deboss garage YouTube channel. They’re using fairly small diesels as the generator.
I regularly watch the YouTube channel with the Unimog so I’ll chime in to explain a bit. Their habitat subframe is spring mounted I believe. It’s not a 3 or 4 point.
I would guess at least some of the movement was coming from the spring mounting as I’m not sure if they have any fixed mounts at...
That’s why I asked whether he was using the E2 or EGo. I have the E2 in my house and there’s nothing stopping you rotating them however you want. It looks like that’s the EGo though which has two sides and I could see it being more important which way it’s oriented. Still not sure it would...
That’s pretty interesting. Looks basically the same as the Lunos for about the same price by the time you buy a pair.
It does appear to have some nice options like WiFi the Lunos doesn’t have.
That’s great to hear! What trim and packages does yours have? I’ve been eying the XL Off-Road package, but it looks like yours is a higher trim level. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the XL Off-Road comes with the 7.3, just the 6.8.
That is a dang nice looking truck! I’ve often considered upgrading my 7.3 to a newer Superduty. The current generation really looks awesome and ticks a lot of boxes. Maybe someday!
I have a fairly similar truck to yours. Mine is a 1999 F-350 regular cab long bed with the 7.3 diesel. GVWR is also 9,900 lbs. However, I’m curious about your vehicle weight. The last time mine was weighed was a few years ago and I still had the stock bed, but it weighed about 6,700 pounds with...
I have a hard side not a pop up but I also use a wooden a frame type thing on top of it with a simple tarp. It lets it breath under the tarp and also helps most of the snow slide off. It’s my first winter with it but it seems to be working well so far.
Eventually once the old camper has had...
