Yes, thank you so much for posting your adventures! I've been following your thread for a while and it helps me get through the winter blues dreaming about places I will go someday. Keep exploring and showing us the beauty that's both close to home and far away!
I understand you rooting for them! I live less than 100 miles from their facility so it's nice to see a new popup camper coming from somewhere other than the West Coast. Three years ago when I was in the market I would have checked them out for sure in person!
I ended up with an AT Summit...
I used to have the Freedom plan for my original inReach mini. I would pay $35/year to have the ability to turn-off the service at any point(I only took a couple remote trips a year) and the most basic plan was $15/month for the months I actually needed it. So, for $65-80/year I was covered in...
Measurbating? Lol
You're not kidding about rotational weight! I just swapped tires and only went up 3 pounds/tire. I immediately dropped over 2 mpg, but this is on a 4-cylinder Tacoma(underpowered) so maybe not as big a deal on larger rigs?
I remember Galyan's! They got bought-out by D i c k ' s Sporting Goods and went to crap. Pendleton is good stuff! I use a wool blanket(not as nice as Pendleton, but decent) and a Rumpl synthetic.
I got on that deal the last time he had some! Picked up two, but now I need one more. I keep checking eBay occasionally to see if he posts more for sale.
Here's a pic from my most recent trip. I've had my AT Summit for over two and a half years and nothing but good things to say! Only mod I've made to the truck is a set of Alcan leafs right after installing the topper. Perfect for me!
I use this one:

It's made for smaller areas(like inside a camper) and I know from experience it works!
I know. Not a huge deal if you're just hauling a bunch of mulch or a rick of firewood home. These campers, however, are semi-permanent and make the truck drive like a DOG. I hope nobody gets into an accident while driving with too much weight. If I'm a claim adjuster first thing I'm doing...
I've got no issue with the price considering the market(and quality). My issue is these companies keep designing 1000lb+ campers for MIDSIZE trucks. I own a Tacoma and that's already over max payload- barebones and empty! They should have just designed it for full-size trucks and keep the...
Only two things I liked about the campground in Arches:. 1. You don't have to worry about timed-entry with campground reservations. 2. Some pretty good hiking trailheads in the campground.
Otherwise, I thought it(the campground- not the park) was very overrated. Sure, there's some beautiful...
Are you talking while deployed or while driving? Again, I have the Summit which -while driving -is identical to the Atlas. I feel the streamlined shape with sloped walls helps it cut thru the wind better. In fact, in two years of having it mounted full-time on my Tacoma I have been averaging...
North Face is now part of Vanity Fair. Mountain Hardware is now owned by Columbia. You're only going to keep seeing a sea of clothing at major outdoor retailers because, like others have said, it's where the PROFIT comes from. Socks are the most profitable thing at the place I work! Not...
Sure, if a thief is determined enough they can get into anything. My truck doesn't have power locks for the tailgate, but I know a pry bar is all really needed to pop-open the back panel that sits ABOVE the tailgate. I keep everything locked at all times and just hope the casual opportunist...
No front slider here! In fact, I opted for ZERO windows in my AT Summit for security(not really a factor with the front slider) and insulation(definitely a factor).
Also, it allowed me to place my galley up front leaving me still with 5 feet of space in my long bed Tacoma!
I have a few things I do for the cold weather in my truck camper. Mine is fully-insulated with only a couple windows and those have insulated panels over them. I realize you have a van which is probably more space you're trying to warm and more windows, but maybe this will help?
