    Kamparoo Transcontinental rear-fold (new build)

Awesome trailer! What are the overall dimensions? Do you plan to hit the Flint Switchbacks?

Thanks for correcting some of my misconceptions and for providing information on your design philosophies. If you happen to make it back here, can you explain where the 69”x 25” bed fits?

It’s shorter by than the G12 by 2ft and narrower by a little over 1ft. The east/west bed is a non starter for me, but I do really like that the body extends over the wheel wells like the G12 and Teton X, unlike MO Summit.

    Arkto C10

Looks awesome, I can’t wait to see the interior layout. Very similar form factor, specs, and price to the Mission Overland Summit with the door in a different place, which may be a good option for some. I’m not sure why they’re pushing a max tow vehicle rating of 3500lbs when the GVWR is 4600lbs…

    DIY trailer build

Amazing work! Nice job. I have a trailer with Timbren 3500HD and it seems nice. Comfortable on and off road, empty (2200 lbs) and full (3500 lbs). The Facebook group and the thread here on ExPo for the brand of trailer both detail camber issues that are fixable. I have not reached out to them...

My bad, I thought you had bigger tires to match the LC. I should’ve @‘d Raptor Fam for my last question in my post, I like their PVC heat ducts.

Ours is the same color and also a ‘22. I agree, not ideal! But is does blend in nicely when you’re out in the wilderness. Orange accent would look nice. We have done most of the same upgrades you mentioned… 280Ah battery, 400W solar, Truma hardwired to shore power… but I could never get the...

    Dedicated Snow Tire

I don’t have any real advice except to tell you that any dedicated snow/winter tire is far superior to a 3PMSF all season when you really need traction in snow and ice. It should look more like a car tire with tons of sipes and not have beefy treads like the truck tires we all love. All hail a...

That hose is an extension that someone added. You should be able to unscrew it and attach the spray head in its place. I think those fittings are a standard RV thing if you’d like to replace the extension and/or change out the spray head. We changed our spray head to one that’s more like a...

19k miles with OME/ Dakar suspension for 2015 Frontier

Most of our adventures are to the desert.

19k miles with OME/ Dakar suspension for 2015 Frontier

Squeaky Dakars is a common OME complaint. On my Tacoma, a little over three years ago, I disassembled the medium duty leaf springs to add the heavy duty leaf. At the same time I replaced all of the anti friction pads. They have been dead silent ever since. May be something to look into if the...

    Learn to Sail?

Have a look at planning a vacation around an American Sailing (ASA) 101/103/104 course. They pack a lot of learning into a 3 day class/cruise. It includes the basics of sailing, safety, and looks into all the systems (12v, engine, water, etc.) that you’ll likely encounter on a reasonably sized...

    Max Coupler Wearing Out

Honest question - why stick with Max Coupler after 10 years of strife? When I initially had problems with mine, I read this thread and feared that CU Offroad would not take care of me. I shopped and was prepared to buy a Lock n Roll, Ark, Cruisemaster, etc., there are lots of good options out...

    Max Coupler Wearing Out

@dstock, I was able to order a set of replacement bushings via email with CU Offroad. $20 shipped.

    Max Coupler Wearing Out

I originally reached out via email to understand why the truck side of the hitch was loosening itself during towing on rough terrain. We tried some troubleshooting over a couple months, but they finally said they had updated the primary nut from nylock (which loosened even with added thread...

    Max Coupler Wearing Out

Chiming in here as I’ve recently had great outcome with CU Offroad’s customer service. They’ve helped me with parts and troubleshooting of both the truck and trailer ends of my Max Coupler over the last few months. I think my new hitch (that came with my new trailer) sat in RV dealer lots for...

Sanity check before I run new wire

My 7 pin connector puts out about 5A, sometimes less. I’m certainly no expert, but I always keep this Blue Sea chart around when I’m doing 12V projects and try to stay in the 3% voltage drop zone, if possible. 6AWG should get you much better results. Good luck on your install.👍
