Surly,
Thanks for the very useful information about the unit- it's still in front running for me but the whole loose socket 12v plug is unnerving. Please keep up with the reports on its performance- I'm saving $$ for it and your info is valuable.
I'm still watching this conversation for performance reports regarding the Aspect Solar battery and/or the matching solar panels. Any info/report will be help me decide if this is the way I'm going to go for my truck camper's power. So- thanks, and I await your results.
Greetings Wainiha,
Yes I did consider death by CO2... but it's denser than air and I'm going to vent the bottom of the camper- and I'll keep the valve closed. Maybe some type of propane/CO2 alarm? I know they have one for carbon monoxide but CO2? Anybody know?
Just in case you haven't heard... Price drop! Pick it up for $600... and you get a sixer of Pacifico. And here's some Baja pics:
Sweet looking shell- Baja tested!
Mmmmm.... Baja!!!!
Greetings Gents-
Thanks for the suggestions for the CO2 system- I wish I had room to install a small locker to keep the quick connect dust free- I'll look into some type of box I could screw to the plate that the coupling could live in. Other than that, I've ordered a 1/2" rubber dust cover to...
Alright then- since nobody sprang into action to help me out I applied my expensive education to the interwebs and I think I figured it out myself:
Spent a little time on the McMaster site learning the difference between British Standard Pipe Taper, Metric Straight, National Pipe Taper and...
Greetings Mr. Cheateaux... we meet again. Why don't you go look at my post in the camper section and help me figure out how I'm going to install through hull ports into my Callen camper. And BTW, this guy knows what he's talking about when it comes to standos.
I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out how this is done. Maybe you can help. I need advice on what to use for two through hull situations where I need to pass extension cords/propane lines through the wall of my camper and where I'd like to mount a PowerTank female quick connect.
So...
Shoot- just pulled it out and I think it would work. I saw some cool 45 degree stanchion bases at west marine that you could fit some type of adjustable pole into- mount the 45 (or 30 degree base) onto the camper and adjust the length of the pole to for different amounts of slope to the...
Thanks for the compliment-Sorry- I had to take it off quickly to put a Callen camper that I found onto it- didn't have a chance to snap pics. But it was sweet- I set it up to carry surfboards underneath- and you can see the propane and water tank for my on demand water heater- 30 gallons of...
Price Drop: $600.... And I'll give YOU a six pack of Pacifico!
Fits 8' bed, '07+ Toyota Tundra trucks- Excellent condition, was on a truck that was parked in a carport so shell is not faded or chalky. All rubber seals in excellent condition- all struts function.
The shell has a flip up full...
One more question- is the Aspect Solar battery pack capable of being charged with a non-Aspect solar panel- say a 100watt panel from a different company?
thanks!
Intrigued by going the Lithium route- please keep us posted about additional tests with your new Aspect rig. If you're able to answer the following, I'd appreciate it: 1. How long to recharge with the included solar panels. 2. How long to recharge using cig. lighter while driving.
Any other...
Was just down in Southern Baja for three weeks- totally cracked up when I rolled up to a surfspot (it's just outside of a cool little town, has a dirt parking lot filled with beater 2WD toyotas and local sedans) and there's a giant, I mean huge, Dakar-style expedition truck sitting in the dirt...
Wife said I can't buy it 'til I pay off the Tundra... this thing looks cool - have to say I don't know if it's a good deal but I could see myself tooling around in it- even if she can't!
