I also love Honda, but they have had some huge misses in the last 10 years, like their 3.5 VCM troubles, 1.5t head gaskets, and 2.0t cylinder head cracking. Anyone who gets a Ridgeline, I strongly recommend disabling the VCM.

I can't speak for Ford's system, but our RAV4 hybrid will certainly apply power to the rear (electric) motor in many situations. It does not require slip to kick in some power, which Is a benefit of an electric motor for the rear end, as it aids efficiency.

Just get a full size regular cab, they are pretty big inside. Also, extra cabs with side rear seats probably don't pass crash standards for the rear occupants. Adding onto that, the market for extra cab mid-size trucks is just too small. The list of people who swore they'd buy a manual...

If the price is amenable, I'd get the Honda Ridgeline. The Maverick is cool, but I'd only get it, over a Ridgeline, if the ~$8-10K savings was necessary.
