Power wagon or 2500 for a light slide in camper

looks like a no go from Carli on the power wagon, the power wagon is already 2.5" lift form the factory, i am assuming with longer coils on the 14-15 and more arched leafs on the 10-13 (or blocks) MAYBE there is a coil spacer onthe power wagon, but i highly doubt it, will verify though. here is...

Power wagon or 2500 for a light slide in camper

aearles, that is great to hear, and more fuel for my fire actually. have you had a 1300lb load in it by chance to see how it handles? underdrive, power wagons do have a 2.5" lift from the factory, so on the newer coil spring trucks (14-15) im not sure a normal 2500 spring would work (probably...

Power wagon or 2500 for a light slide in camper

i do know they suck on mpgs, so does my tundra when the camper i loaded, seems like i get between 9-13mpg (ive seen 20 unloaded, but 80mph and wind kills it). I have heard from others the PW doesnt really care if its loaded or not, always consistant sucky milage--ha. i bet a standard 2500 hemi...

Power wagon or 2500 for a light slide in camper

ha, i think a 3500 would flex even less than a 2500, which puts it at the extreme opposite end of the spectrum powerwagner, of course i will not take the truck the same places we take the 2 door Rubicon, but living in CO i do find myself on some knarly trails an aweful lot to find a good camp...

Power wagon or 2500 for a light slide in camper

I currently own a 02 Tundra access cab with a 13 Four Wheel Camper Hawk in it, fairly loaded camper (hot water, awning etc), so i would guess 1300lbs give or take. Tundra i did add-a-leaf, bilsteen 5100's, and air bags with day star cradles. Tundra handles the camper OK, not awesome, but...

Anyone have a pic and measurement( height) of a Powerwagon and a FWC ? Thanks

question i should never ask about power wagon i know, but what are you seeing for realistic gas milage in a power wagon with a hawk FWC? i already own a hawk on a 1st gen tundra (02) and am toying with the idea of upgrading to a 3/4 ton power wagon. im thinking i will be at the same milage give...

Looking to buy a Dual Sport to use on a hitch mount for the Airstream

ill weigh in on this since ive tried most of the dual sport offerings out there over the years and dealt with how to effectively transport them as well. my ford E350 was set up to carry one dirt bike inside and one on the back (dirt bikes though). anyway, what do you really want to do with the...

Conversion images; what issues do you see?

ive owned a javier van, that stabilizer bracket always worried me--never seemed stout enough (and i do know someone who had it break on them). if i was gonna do another van--it would be a u-joint kit hands down. i had lots of trouble with lots of BS out of Javier that took way to much time to...

87 VW Vanagon Syncro Westfalia Weekender with Subaru 2.5L in Denver

sno dawg, agreed, try thesamba.com, lots of VW-heads over there lookinf for that stuff. if you were local id come get it myself haf-E, it is a 4 speed PLUS low gear, as were all syncros. wouldn't consider it a 5 spd since the low gear is behind reverse and actuated the same way (push down and...

87 VW Vanagon Syncro Westfalia Weekender with Subaru 2.5L in Denver

getting alot of questions about regear, it is running stock gearing and tranny is in perfect shape. I find the stock gearing is perfect for the subaru transplants (diesels not so much) and i have known a few who have regeared and regretted it later. of course opinions are ........

87 VW Vanagon Syncro Westfalia Weekender with Subaru 2.5L in Denver

thanks and oh yeah, it is still running the stock VC, which is functioning perfectly. I thought about adding a decoupler, but even then i would still run a VC. ive driven some solid shaft conversions before and prefer the VC for usability. adding an agressive VC to the mix is probably the way to go

87 VW Vanagon Syncro Westfalia Weekender with Subaru 2.5L in Denver

here is a hard to find 4x4 Syncro Westfalia pop top weekender style Vanagon with a fresh Subaru 2.5L motor installed. This van was just completed recently but must move on for various reasons. If you have never driven a 4wd Vanagon Syncro, you are missing out, unmatched in the views and the way...

    My Syncro Build

    11. i hate these motors so much, i even delivered it to someone who wanted it 12. tranny prepped (and mostly clean) with small car bellhousing. i really like this product to, eliminates the crappy VW/vanagon slave cyl, and the unreliable Bosch starter replacing it with the subi starter. also...
