I aint trying to make light of your post, just an explanation of my thoughts. Man has survived 200,000 years with electronics and gadgets. Not saying there is anything wrong with them, just at this point in my life I am into the less gadgets stage. But I'm all for reading about them

If you pack one up damp, it's gonna mold, regardless of canvas, nylon, sun forager or sunbrella material. I have never seen one that didnt, and that includes pop up tent trailers.
None of them are very good if all they have had is mountain cedar browse. Mule deer out of the mountains is pretty good, mule deer from the desert not so much.
It works, but be warned some liquid lanterns do not maintain enough heat to keep the generator producing gas with screens instead of globes. They flame up pretty bad.
Had this one 4 or 5 years, seems good so far. Have no complaints. Mine was made in the USA, and about $50 more than the current model, so guess is Chinese now...
Those were high quality boots, I had a pair in 78, unfortunately, they are now Walmarts brand of boots and the "real" Hermans havent been made since probably 79.
