    Jeep on long trips.....

We have done the long trips in the jeep, in fact the wife prefers it over her car. Your comfort level may depend on your height. I am 5'6" and the jeep fits me well.

    Cheapo trailer overland worthiness?

Check out the 4 Wheel Drive magazine website. They modified a HF trailer for offroad last year. It was a lot of work. I am not sure it works out economically. That would depend on you. Good Luck.

    JKU spring and shock help

I have the OME heavy and they ride nice. They have not settled in 3 years. The OME shocks lasted just past the warranty. Two of the four failed. I have also switched to the Rancho 9000 adjustable. I stiffen the shocks for the highway and when I air down I adjust the shocks to a softer setting...

    Jeep Tire/Wheel Help Needed

I would just go to Discount Tire (it may be called something else in CA) They have a good selection of wheels and tires. The wheels in 17" are around $120 each. The problem with 16" is there is a smaller selection of tires and they are usually for pickups. If you buy wheels and tires at Discount...

Product Review: OME Nitrocharger Sport Shocks on TJ

I left the OME shocks behind after 2 failed just after the warranty ended. I have had the Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks for 4 months. So far I like them. They are easy to adjust manually. I stiffen them for the highway and soften them for off road. With the weight of my rig I just thought I...

    Suburban Questions

I have had several friends that were die hard chevy fans and bought the diesel. They were underpowered and not very dependable. And with the cost of diesel today, I think the 383 as mentioned earlier is better. It is probably more dependable and more powerful.

    2007 Jumping Jack Build

You can have your trailer axel aligned (bent) to make wear the tires true. Ask at a boat shop or rv sales if there is someone in your area that does that type of alignment. All trailers should have a wheel alignment if the tires are wearing uneven.

Show me your rear interior rack- JK

I modified the one for the two door to fit in my four door. It mounts to the roll bar the same. I had to drill two new holes in the front best top bar. The back besttop bar I bolted through the rack. I will try and get a photo.

Jeep JK spring options... I need some input.

I have the OME heavy duty. Love the springs. The shocks only lasted to just past the warranty. Two of the four shocks were completely gone. I switched to the Rancho 9000xl. The adjustment works well. I was taking 40 mph corners at 55+ on pavement. On a rocky washboard road 30 to 35 mph was no...

    Camping - Firewood Gathering Tools

We used one when we forgot the chainsaw to cut downed trees from a jeep trail. It worked very good for that purpose. It could be hard on your fingers if used for a long time.

Tent for One Man and Cot

As the title says, I am looking for a tent for me and my cot. I am too old for the ground sleeping or climbing up a ladder. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
