Keep your ktm and get a very low maintenance dual sport. A DRZ400 would do the trails you've described plus multi-day trips. And the only maintenance is oil and filter changes so no need for a dealer.

On the edges, yes. I plan to make some hard-bottom cushions for seating.

Thanks. I wanted something light and easily removable. It is just akro mills bins plus s-tracks and mini ratchet straps. Just FYI, bin prices fluctuate a lot. S-tracks are mounted with rivnuts. Avoid the $20 rivnut tools - I snapped one after mounting only 8 nuts...

Replaced mounting straps with these cool mini ratchet straps - much more secure. Reorganized the bed a bit to have a secure spot for the kermit chairs. Next steps are dust sealing and still need to mount the auxillary battery.

Love my kermit chairs! The green one is over 15 years old.

It snowed again earlier this week, but GFC install will happen soon. Next I need to secure the fridge aux battery. Then it is pretty much ready for Canyonlands!

Finally finished my bed storage system! Simple mounting rails mounted to the bed with rivnuts. Part of the delay was breaking my cheapo rivnut tool last weekend - the $75 tool works MUCH better than the $20 tool. :D

Yes to training and Kudos to the well-prepared guy! 90% of the time I am handing out bits from my 1st aid kit to others. But that may be because everyone I hang out with knows I have a thorough FAK or two with me at all times. The only thing I can see that I would add would be more gauze...

I've had a few DIY pressure and pump shower systems over the years and have landed on the NEMO Helio Pressure Shower. It warms up passively in the sun and can be filled with hot water if necessary. This system has served me and my significant others very well for quite a few seasons.

I have the optional side door (driver side), so can enter the tent from the bed, back, and side. So far I have just used the bed access.

Awaiting the first rain to clean the salt off the roads to load the GFC. And pull the cycles out of storage!
