5.4L EFI FFV V8 worth converting to 4x4 "sportsmobile"?

Thank you for the input Rancho... given the rarity of what I'm looking for I may end up with a gas eater... thanks :-)

5.4L EFI FFV V8 worth converting to 4x4 "sportsmobile"?

I've been looking and lurking for a while now. I am swayed in the direction of converting an E-350. The low mileage diesels seem so hard to find I'm wondering if the 5.4L EFI FFV V8 model would be worth while converting.... 4x4, poptop at a minimum, probably more interior work as well (sink...

How deep can 4x4 vans get you? Beginner questions...

Yeah, what Half-E said, no way on the Rubicon trail, that is serious rock crawler country and NO place for anything long wheelbased. I've never driven it in a 4x4, but a few times to Rubicon Springs and back on our mountain bikes... passing the rock crawlers by the dozens... :D

    Flippac Maintenance

I think your Q's have been answered.... but I'll add my own: I've used dry silicone spray or dry teflon spray (called sail slide) on zippers with good success. flip-back build

Cool.... Yeah, the FlipPac design/idea is excellent, unfortunately it is built by "back yard" fabricators. I wish Leer or another topper company would come to the rescue... I'm sure a large professional company could lower the cost and improve the quality. I envy your skills, keep up the good...

"Safe" to drill areas on a FlipPac

Hey Folks, A bit new to the forum here, although long time skulker of many of these threads ;-) Anyway, are there "safe" areas to drill into the FlipPac? I would like to side mount an awning and really, simply, if I could just drill straight though to the inside that would work (sealing it...

    Why no backward flip pac?

I have wondered the same thing, but I'd probably agree with the minimal "footprint" ideas above. A built in canopy would certainly be nice added benefit for sure. The WilderNest opens sideways, accomplishing the canopy idea. After having a FlipPac for a bit I think the small footprint is a good...
