Thanks for the lead on stakes . I know where to get them . I think i found the perfect tent for cooking. The tent style is called a shepard tent. A company out of denver make them . 9.6 x 9.6 x 4 . I think i would change the 4 to 4.6 .
The tent for the trailer will be from adventure trailers. The cooking tent will be from REI . I may go with a tarp . i don't thing the tent that cabelas sells is of the same quality as adventure trailers. The reason why i brought up cabelas was to find a solution for a cooking tent or vestebule.
One of nice feature of this trailer is the ability to store it in small location , instead of taking allot of space in garage or driveway. Also , it can be towed by a small vehicle like vw tdi . The tdi is another subject. (milage , etc ) . If pickup got allot better fuel milage i would go that...
Zodi used to be sold by adventure trailers. Safty issues if i remember.

I'm planning on using a down mattress and vapor barrier clothes and liner . I don't think the air under neath will be a problem (talking to adventure trailers people). Also , where i park is going to be fairly protected. I can always build a base to enclose the area below the tent.
Would love to hear from other who have done some winter camping . For instance is it safe to cook within the tent or do you put up a separate tent ? Did you have your tent custom made so that you can handle blowing snow and still be able to exit the tent without getting snow inside. What about...
I would like to use either model 1600 or 1800 tent on http://www.activitytrailer.com/ . I talked to one person who thinks i might be able to do without a cargo rack . But , i need to know what the safest distance between the rails would be for either the 1600 or 1800 .
