No, this would be a total fail if i couldnt use my receiver hitch any longer. I cut a few inches off the end of the curt insert to make sure there would be plenty of room for any receiver insert on the other side. I tried all my different inserts and they all fit fine with plenty of room to spare.
Sorry, I thought it was obvious I wasnt done.
I am using a clevis for a temporary fairlead as seen in the pic. Its impossible for the rope to pull against the side of the drum. Does not matter, the new rear bumper with fairlead will be installed soon enough.
I modified my Reese hitch to accept a Curt winch receiver mount from the opposite end, a piece of 1/4" angle iron as a cross member and lots of measuring and drilling....
still have to wire it up and section the rear cross member for a fairlead but as far as im concerned, the hard part is done...
